: Peter slipped into the dragon arena later that evening. He needed to talk to Sky, see if he was ready to learn so he can lead the quest and not only free Christine from the spell she was under, but free himself as well. He had heard that his nephew had been there and he needed to apologize. His nephew was a bit of a handful. "Sky, can I talk to you? If it isn't a problem?" Hopefully, Sky would accept his apology for his nephew's behavior. Brian was... well... a product of his upbringing and the fact that his parents were still in the middle ages - well, the equilivant thereof to be exact.

Sky swung his head toward the sound of the voice; wryly, he admitted to himself that being a dragon had its advantages: with his long neck, it certainly was easier to get a better view of the things around him.
Seeing that the unexpected visitor was Sir Peter, and not Chris's irritating cousin, Sky bent his head in acquiescence, mildly curious by the tone of Peter's voice. .

: "For starters, I wish to apologize for my nephew's actions this afternoon. He's a handful. That and his family haven't really left the middle ages so his actions are the result of his upbringing," Peter said in his quiet, unassuming voice. It was clear where Christine got her upbringing from. "Is there anything you need? Anything that I can do to help?"

"Don't apologize," Sky said, wishing that he had hands to gesture with. "It really isn't any of your fault . . . and maybe not Brian's either. I mean, after all, his cousin is . . . well, you know how Chris is right now. I can't blame him for being short-tempered; it's obvious that he loves her and is hurt by what happened." Diplomatically, Sky added, "I lost my temper too, I admit; I've discovered, or should I say, remembered, many things about myself recently, and it's all quite a bit disconcerting. So, if I forgive my temper, I must also forgive his - this feeling of mine, I suppose, is a result of my upbringing."
Stamping his foot restlessly, Sky focused on breathing in and out, the sound of his breath coming out in soft, albeit guttural snorts. After that small speech of his, he wasn't sure what else to say.

: Peter nodded at Sky's comment about his stepdaughter's condition. 'I know all too well,' Peter thought bitterly. It pained him to see his stepdaughter in such a state and be unable to help her. "I heard that Brian was giving you flying lessons, exactly how successful were they? I am a bit curious," Peter asked, changing the topic from the painful reminder of his stepdaughter's current state to something slightly more pleasant. Well, for him anyway. And he couldn't help but feel sorry for the prince - having been forced into this role as leader of a quest. He hadn't asked for it - and probably would never have wanted it. He'd apologize for Christine's inadvertent dragging him in and for her bobbling that spell. "And while I'm apologizing... I wish to apologize for Christine's actions as well. I know she would never have dreamed of merging you with Gorbash," Peter said, pausing for a moment. "She was, if my memory serves, trying to cast a removal spell but time was limited so she did the best she could." He sighed. "I seem to be apologizing for just about everything these days."

Sky felt an odd constriction in his chest at the mention of Chris's name. Brushing aside the feeling, Sky replied lamely, feeling that whatever he could say wouldn't be adequate, "Really, there's no need to apologize. These are . . . uh . . . difficult times."
After a few moments of silence, Sky cleared his throat. "As for my flying lessons, well, I think it might be quite a while before I get the hang of things. I mean, I can get off the ground - at least when I get angry. I discovered that today in Brian's presence," he added wryly. "But as for me being in control of my flying - not happening."

: Peter glanced at the ground, shrugged, and sat down. "I remember when Smrgol had to teach me. It was not fun at all." He sighed quietly. "Well, you know how to get up and you know how to get down." He thought a moment. "You don't flap the wings, they mainly are used to steer you in the direction you wish to go."
