"I understand, Miss Faragonda," Flora said politely, nodding her head once to show that she did. "I'm just glad I took Tecna's advice and did some summer courses," Flora said with a small smile. "Since my classes were in Professor Palladium's field, would it be possible that I skip his lessons and attend the other classes I signed up for? That way, there's no way either of us could embarrass the other in his class."
Oh dear, she was starting to sound like Tecna.

"That is precisely what I had in mind, Flora. If there are any classes in Palladium's field that you need to have credit for, we will look into having another student tutor you and you can simply take the examinations and place out of the classes if necessary. Otherwise you can perhaps do a few transfer courses as an exchange with Cloud Tower." Faragonda suggested. After all, this was the girl that befriended the witch transfer student Mirta, right?

"That could prove to be interesting," Flora noted, thinking about the transfer exchange prospect. "And I'm sure Tecna would tutor me if I asked her." This could work, this could honestly work. But there was that old earther saying.. what was it that Bloom told her? Oh yes, absence makes the heart grow fonder. She hid a mental wince at that.

Palladium stood quietly as he listened to the exchange between Ms. Faragonda and Flora, surprised yet again at how things were unfolding. Just like that everything would go back to being normal. Well, almost. He knew that he still had feelings for Flora, but since she wasn't going to be under his tutelage anymore, things would get easier. They had to. Without her around he could go back to being the teacher he once was - the one who lived only for education. None of those fantasies of romance. It wasn't for him. It was a bit depressing, but Palladium decided that he simply wasn't cut out to have those kinds of relationships. He was the eternal teacher. But that would be okay if he could just recapture his sole love for potionology. That would be his life again. And Flora . . . well, Flora wouldn't be able to fit in anywhere. Which was for the best. He never did deserve someone like her.
Turning to Faragonda, he asked politely, "It seems I am no longer required here and I am certain that you and Flora have things you should discuss regarding her classes, therefore, if I have your permission, may I be excused?" Pausing, Palladium smiled dimly, "My next class begins in a few minutes."

Faragonda gave an equally subdued smile to the professor, knowing that this issue had died down for at least the time being. She knew this was far from over, but she needed time to think things through.
"Yes, you may go."

Palladium nodded his head briefly, and then turned to leave the room, carefully avoiding Flora. Stepping out into the hall he shut the door behind him with a click and then just stood frozen in place for a moment. What just happened? Had it even happened? It certainly didn't feel real.
Wearily, Palladium rubbed his eyes and then glanced up at the clock on the wall across from him. He had fifteen minutes until his next class - time enough to pull himself together. And he had better be because he had a feeling that today his students would be buzzing with gossip about that meeting Griselda had called. And he had an even greater feeling that they would assume that he was somehow involved. Frowning, Palladium strode to his office; it was going to be an exhausting day.

"Hmph, good to see everything's worked out," Griselda added, giving Flora a Trix-like glare. To herself she was thinking, Since coming to Alfea, I've never backed down from a fight. And once again, I have the advantage. Hah.
The meeting was dismissed.
