edit: Continuation from hereFlora didn't bother going back to her dorm like she had originally planned, most of her stuff had been already packed and attached to her bike the night before. She needed to leave and leave right away. Luckily, as a present for her birthday during the summer, her parents had gotten her a small hoverbike - perfect for a single person. She quickly mounted it, placing the helmet on and turned her head, casting one long last look in the direction of where she knew Professor Palladium's office was. "Farewell," she whispered, a few tears streaking down her face. "May your ghosts and books keep you warm at night, Professor." Her ghosts weren't - she'd probably lie awake at night, dreaming of what could have been, would have been if she were older. With that, Flora revved her bike and sped off, heading for the nearest train station - an hour away from the school. The odds of any of her friends catching her before she boarded the train was growing increasingly slim as she sped off.

Flora hopped off her bike and stood at the station. She sighed quietly and looked up at the board, reading the times for its next run. She had about an hour wait ahead of her. She sat down in one of the chairs and waited.
Of course, the music playing wasn't helping her mood.
You took your coat off and stood in the rain, You were always crazy like that I watched from my window, Always felt I was outside looking in on you You were always the mysterious one With dark eyes and careless hair, You were fashionably sensitive, but too cool to care Then you stood in my doorway, with nothing to say Besides some comment on the weather Well in case you failed to notice, In case you failed to see, This is my heart bleeding before you, This is me down on my knees
These foolish games are tearing me apart Your thoughtless words are breaking my heart You're breaking my heart
You were always brilliant in the morning Smoking your cigarettes, talking over coffee Your philosophies on art, Baroque moved you, You loved Mozart and you'd speak of your loved ones As I clumsily strummed my guitar You'd teach me of honest things Things that were daring, things that were clean Things that knew what an honest dollar did mean. So I hid my soiled hands behind my back Somewhere along the line I must've gone off track with you Excuse me, think I've mistaken you for somebody else Somebody who gave a damn, Somebody more like myself
These foolish games are tearing me apart Your thoughtless words are breaking my heart You're breaking my heart
You took your coat off and stood in the rain You were always like that

An unexpected visitor pulled Flora's arm. A panting voice rushed out, "Wait! Don't go! It's my fault! Well not entirely my fault, but it's my fault stuff is going wrong at Alfea right now! I- -I heard your conversation with Palladium, and told Ms. G. She's about to make a whole announcement on a rule forbidding student teacher relationships. And if that weren't fishy enough, she might fire Palladium!" Doyne's voice sounded truly desperate and sorry. Enough to make one think there was something seriously wrong with the girl. "You've got to come back! You've got to- -to stop this!"

"You what?" Flora asked, a look of sick horror on her face. "Oh, Doyne, why? What did I ever do to you? What did Professor Palladium ever do to you?" She felt more then a bit sick to her stomach. Of all the things to happen, she never had expected this.
Her eyes drifted to the train that was nearly ready to pull into the station.

Doyne's voice began to break. Crying, she answered, "Nothing! My mom told me to find things out! That's all! And I- -can be a real pain, I know it." She sniffed loudly. "I don't know why, ok?! I'm trying to set things right! PLEASE come!"

"All... all right," Flora said quietly. "I'll go back. But I think it might be too late for either of us." Her green eyes were moist with tears. "I've made such a mess of things... maybe it would be better if I just left and started fresh at a different school..."

A little too quickly, Doyne threw her arms around Flora. "Alright, let's go." She wanted to say something hopeful, but at the same time, didn't want to lie.

Flora's heart was torn in two. She wanted to start fresh, start a new life, far away from Alfea and its power over her heart, but she just couldn't abandon her friends and.. even if it hurt to admit it - the man she was madly in love with. Even if he himself didn't want to believe or accept it.
Looking at the train, longing clear in her eyes, Flora made her descion. She turned on her heel and headed for the parking lot where she left her hoverbike. "Well... let's get back there..."
