OOC: well, set during season 1 (so Sky and Brandon are still pretending to be each other). If everyone else can write fun little past threads, why can't I?

The sun hadn’t even risen when Chris stirred from her sound sleep. She glanced about the room, taking in the sight of her sleeping dorm mates. Since she had been new that year, she had to have been dropped into a room with four inhabitants already – not that she minded… for the most part. There was just this sticky thing about them thinking she was a he when she was most decidedly a she. ‘Good, all asleep,’ she thought, idly entertaining the idea of smothering Riven with his pillow if he continued to do his impersonation of a chainsaw with a slipped gear.
She was grateful that they were still sleeping – that meant she had the shower to herself and she could get prepared for the long day ahead. She didn’t look forward to the bruises that she was sure to get from training with Riven, which would surely happen later that day. ‘Man needs to get therapy for that anger problem and beating up classmates isn’t it,’ she thought as she sneaked into the bathroom. She pulled off her tee shirt and kicked off her boxers, before undoing the tape that held her chest flat so they couldn’t figure out she was really a girl – she decidedly didn’t want to be sent to Alfea School for Fairies or Cloud Tower School for Witches – she had no desire to attend either school. She rather would like to learn how to fight with weapons, not magic like the fairies or the witches.
She savored the feeling of hot water on her skin, grateful once more that she was an early riser – that meant she had access to the hot water before someone like Sky or Brandon got in to the shower. She had taken a shower after Brandon was in and nearly froze to death due to the hot water going suddenly cold on her. ‘Never again,’ she mentally swore. ‘I refuse to let him get first dibs on the shower. Him and Sky, good grief they take the longest and use up almost all of the hot water in this dorm’s water system.’
She stepped out of the shower and dried off quickly, taping her chest back down before returning to the main room and getting into her uniform. She smoothed the body suit down, hoping it wouldn’t reveal anything of her gender, before adjusting the gloves and boots, making sure they fit smoothly. She fastened the cape, or at least attempted to. She had to muffle her cursing so she didn’t wake anyone. “Always that damn clasp. Can’t they get new ones?” she muttered to herself, hoping she didn’t wake anyone with her talking. She hated the clasp they had to use for the cloaks – always a pain in her ass, she couldn’t think of one student that liked the damn things.
She froze instantly when she felt a set of arms around her and adjusted the pin, clipping her cape on for her. She managed to just barely suppress a shudder of delight as the bare skin of the foreign arm touched what little flesh that was exposed on her.
