Sky let out a terrified yelp as he felt his leg become crushed in the wolf's locked jaw. Futilely, he pounded at the wolf's body, trying to weaken it, to give him a moment to escape, but the wolf was strong. So very strong. Hearing the scream, Demetrius cried out, "Prince Sky!" Running as swiftly as possible, Demetrius vaguely noticed that the scenery nevertheless seemed to stand still. It felt as though he was making no progress. His heart pounding, as he reached the edge of the forest, he called out again, "Prince Sky!" Hearing thrashing sounds nearby, Demetrius grabbed a large, heavy branch off the ground, and began to move in the direction of the noise. After a moment, the sight of the wolf and Sky came into his line of vision; not hesitating for one moment more, Demetrius let out a ferocious call and ran toward the wolf. As he managed to get close enough, he began beating the branch onto the wolf's body, determined to make it release its grip on Sky.

The Wolf was not pleased. He was now drenched and being beaten upon. He had given Sky's leg a very hardy shake, but had let go the moment that the beating had begun.
He quickly turned his attentions to Demetrius, at first biting down on the branch to break it. It was only moments before the branch was destroyed and he began to viciously claw and attempt to bite him.
OOC: Just a bite and a full moon, I believe... Well, not unless I'm told otherwise... ^^;;

Climbing down the tree Brandon finally after what had seemed like ages got to the last branch. "Sky can you stand? Come on I will pull you up." Brandon begged Sky.
OCC:In this one. Will having Sky turn into a werewolf require only one bite and a full moon or does he need to be spelled?

"Prince Sky, run!" Demetrius called out, terror filling his body as he saw the wolf turn on him. Remembering at that moment that he did in fact have his sword, Demetrius pulled it out, cursing himself for being so stupid as to have forgotten it earlier. By now that wolf could have been killed, but no - instead of grabbing his sword he had grabbed a branch. A branch. Crouching slightly, keeping his eyes carefully trained on the wolf, Demetrius shook off his thoughts and instead, prepared himself to fight. Now wasn't the time to lose focus. Sky watched Demetrius, his mouth hanging open slightly in fear. Demetrius could . . . die. Calling out to his guard, Sky replied stubbornly, "I won't leave you!" Feeling Brandon grasp his arm, he angrily shoved it away. Turning to look up into his friend's face, he hissed, "I can't leave him alone!" Angrily, Demetrius snapped, "Get out of here, Sky! I mean it. Don't worry about me, you understand? Get out! You are of no help to me." In the distance, Riannon stood with her hand over her mouth, her features frozen in terror. She could do nothing, she knew. She could only wait.

OOC: I think one bite and the full moon - but the actual transformation will happen later >.> I've got plans. Besides, you're summering with three wizards. : Melisande knew that it was going to be a long night. She glanced over at her father and nodded once, a silent conversation going on between the two of them. Once Sky was brought back to safety, Melisande would insist on them spending the night to at least have his leg tended to before they left. It was the least she and her family could do. That, and Carolinus would safeguard the prince by blocking the curse that now lay upon him.

OCC: Wanted to know if after that bite I could steal Sky away.
"Damn it Sky, Your can't help right now. Your injured AND you have no weapon to help him. We would just get in the way!!!!!" Grabbing a hold of Sky, tighter this time. Pulling with all his might Brandon pulled Sky up onto the first branch. "We have to get higher up. It could still get us."

Her gaze shifting to Melisande and then to the woman's father, Riannon felt her dread growing. Panicking and fearing for her son's life, she lunged at Melisande, and screamed, "What have you people done to my son?" Before Riannon could attack Melisande, Aldrich quickly wrapped his strong arms around her, preventing her from moving in the least. Grimly, he looked out to the forest and whispered a silent prayer that his only son would come out alive. Turning to look down at his wife's face, he quietly silenced her with one look that clearly said that Melisande was not to blame. Now that Riannon no longer had anyone to blame, no opponent to throw her energy and anger at, she felt her defense begin to crack. Slowly, tears began to slip down her face and soon, her whole body was shaking with painful sobs, her loud wailing filling the air.

As it registered in Sky's head that Demetrius and Brandon were right - that he could be of no help - he weakly gave in, allowing his friend to pull him up to safety.

The wolf continued on attacking Demetrius, snarling and clawing at him still. However, it seemed to be a short lived battle...
There was a howling in the distance that distracted Wolf. He quickly backed off. Something else was going on, and that something was much more important than avenging one's canine pride and mauling Demetrius.

: Melisande was silent for a long moment, not daring to say anything to further upset the other woman. Christine pulled free of her mother's arms and walked over to Sky's mother and father. She looked up at them with such innocence and silently hugged them before retreating back to her mother's side, hiding behind her. : Melisande smiled at her daughter, silently pleased that her daughter was attempting to comfort the visiting royals. Christine looked over at the queen and spoke quietly. "If it pleases her majesty, the prince can have my bed while he recovers... I can find a different place to sleep."

"Demetrius did it, he beat the wolf." Brandon cried out happy that they were all okay, well mostly okay.

As Demetrius watched the wolf run off, he breathed a sigh of relief. For a moment there he thought he was a goner. Carefully putting his sword back in its sheath, Demetrius glanced up to the trees where he saw Brandon and Sky sitting, clearly terrified. Smiling up at them, he gestured for them to climb down and added to lighten the mood, "It's safe, boys; I certainly showed that beast who is boss!"

Riannon stood, looking down in shock at the girl who had dared to actually hug her even given all of her angry outbursts. A faint smile reached her lips as she nodded almost imperceptibly, accepting the girl's offer to give Sky her bed. Turning her back to the girl, her body still clasped in Aldrich's arms, Riannon stood staring at the forest silently. After a moment, she glanced over her shoulder and then said quietly, "Thank you," before resuming her watchful stance.

Jumping down off the branch Brandon looked around; seaching to make sure that the wolf really have left. Once he had assured himself that it was really gone.
Turning back to Sky he saw how much blood was on his leg. Going pale but still curious to see the wound. "Can you walk on it?" Brandon asked.

A faint ghost of a smile appeared on Christine's pale features - she was happy that the queen had accepted her gift. She didn't quite know where she'd sleep - possibly on the floor near the bed so in case he got a nightmare she'd be there to offer what comfort she could. It was the best she could do - she wasn't as gifted as her mother when it came to helping people.
