"Aldrich," Riannon warned, her voice growing shrill, "I demand that we return home at once. As the queen, I would like to believe that I have at least partial say in such matters as these-" Aldrich glared at his wife, and then replied, his voice cold, "Did I not request your silence? You may be queen, but do not forget for one moment that I am king. We will do as I say. Do you understand?" "Oh yes, I understand perfectly well," Riannon hissed. "I understand that you are insufferable, stubborn, and a brute and I'll not have it." Turning her back to her husband, she called, "Demetrius, darling, be a dear and arrange for my son and me to return to Eraklyon at once." Demetrius looked at Riannon, his eyes wide open, reflecting his uncertainty as to whether he should obey his king or queen. As Aldrich and Riannon quarreled and Demetrius stood between frightened out of his wits, Sky took the opportunity to scamper off away from all the commotion. He needed a break, he decided firmly. No, more like he deserved a break. Simply put, his parents were frustrating. Oh yes, they'd fight now and it'd be horrible to listen to, but in a week's time they'd be back to being nauseatingly lovey-dovey with each other - and that was equally horrible. Nodding to himself, Sky decided that now was the perfect time to explore this new realm. His attention drawn to what appeared to be a forest a little ways off, Sky laughed to himself. I bet that is the kind of place where the not friendly things live. Shaking his head in amusement, Sky ignored the girl's warning and puffed up his chest, cheering himself on all the while. "Who's the man? Me. I am the man. Who's afraid of danger? Not me. Who lives for danger? That would be me. Why? Because I am the man.

: Something felt wrong - very wrong. Melisande could sense that now. But she had more important matters to attend to - such as her only child seeming trapped by this vision. "C'mon, you can do it," she cooed softly. "There." Christine weakly opened her eyes and stared up at her mother. She reached up and pulled herself up, burying her face in her mother's shoulder and crying softly. She was out and out terrified of what she saw.

While the drama was unfolding with the king and queen. Brandon scampered off, looking around for something to do. Rounding the corner of the house, he spotted a full bucket of water. Grinning mischievously he giggled "This will so get Sky back."
Pulling with all his might he slowly dragged it over to the trees. "Now if only I can get it into the tree. Then I can really get him." Remembering the rope that he had seen earlier he ran back and got it.
Noticing that the King and Queen were really going at it, he made haste back to his tree. Pulling the bucket of water up into the tree, he waited trying as hard as he could to stay still, quivering with excitement.

: "It'll be okay, my angel," Melisande cooed softly to her daughter. "Now, let's head back for the house and we can see about getting dinner. In fact, I think I'll let you have dessert first, would you like that?" she asked softly. She hugged her daughter tightly, rubbing her back, trying to coax a smile from her frightened daughter. Once again, she was grateful that she only had one child, and a daughter at that. Those two boys seemed like nothing but trouble. Christine nodded, looking up at her mother. Her eyes were still wet with tears and she looked ready to start crying again. "He'll be all right, right, Mama? Grandpapa will help him?" : "Of course your grandfather will help him," Melisande said quietly. She found the question to be rather odd but didn't ask her daughter why she said that, for fear of upsetting the child further. "Your grandfather is a good man and he helps those that need his aid. You know that." Melisande glanced about the area, trying to spot the boys. Suddenly, it dawned her, the nameless dread that she and her daughter had sensed. Wolves - the kind that were able to walk on two legs - roamed the dark forest. Melisande quickly turned her head and addressed the feuding king and queen. "Where is your son?" an anxious concern clear in her voice.

Lurking toward the edge of the forest was a wolf. He had been able to smell the young Prince for quite sometime and had been waiting. Although, he wasn't waiting for anyone in particular, as it didn't matter so much as long as it was something or in this case someone.
"...Because I am the man!" Wolf heard the words and stopped. His prey was close and within reach. Soon he’d attack.

Nearing the forest, Sky heard what sounded like a crack, as though someone was walking on branches and leaves. Furrowing his brow, he felt a small bubble of fear swell up in his chest. Standing still, Sky carefully listened in case the sound repeated itself. After several moments, Sky shook his head; he was being stupid. Nothing was out there. It had probably just been the wind rustling . . .
Entering the forest, Sky smiled wickedly. This was the perfect place to hold a pretend war with Brandon. Speaking of which, where was Brandon? Shrugging his shoulders, Sky decided that it didn't really matter - especially when he had the opportunity to explore and find all the good hiding spots. That way he'd have an advantage over Brandon when they played; how could he resist that?

: Melisande felt her daughter's grip tighten on her arm. "It's okay, baby, it's okay..." She rocked her child back and forth, trying to comfort her. She gave Sky's parents and bodyguard a look of disbelief. "Am I speaking a foreign language? *Where* is your *son*?"

Riannon glared at Melisande. With an irritated wave of her hand, she replied, "He's somewhere around here; he's a boy; what else can one expect? Aldrich laughed, "Boys will be boys; I wouldn't worry too much, madam. My son is quite capable of looking after himself; after all, it isn't as though he is a very young child." Giving Melisande a pointed stare, he continued, "Because of this, we choose not to baby him."

Waiting less than paticently for Sky to walk a little closer to the tree he was sitting in. "Come on, come on." He muttered the thrill of finally getting one over Sky was almost to much to bare.
Leaning a little to far over the side of the tree he nearly dropped the bucket but was unable to keep some of the water from spilling out.

: Melisande was growing quite frustrated. "There are wolves in the forest," she bit out forcefully. "Rather large wolves who would love to have your son as a meal. And there are wolves there that have the ability to walk like a man. So I'll ask again, where is he?" Christine was quite frightened. "Mama," she whimpered. "I'm scared. Why won't they help him?"

Hearing the splash of water near his feet, Sky's gaze immediately flew up to the trees. Seeing Brandon sitting far up on a branch, Sky's eyes narrowed and he called out angrily, "Hey, jerk! What do you think you're doing?"

Aldrich felt himself start to grow irritated with this woman - she was almost as bad as his wife. Almost. Smiling tightly, he bowed slightly, and replied, "If it will please you, I will send Demetrius to go find my son." Turning to Demetrius, Aldrich gave him a curt nod, indicating that he was dismissed. Demetrius bowed in return, and then turned away, walking in the direction of the forest. Riannon stared at the forest fearfully. "Wolves, you say?" Clutching her husband's sleeve, she whispered, "Oh, Aldrich, what did I say? We should have left a long time ago . . ."

Perfect. The prey was still oblivious…
He came in closer, and then deciding that it was safe to do so, he lunged forward at Sky’s legs. In one swift motion, he had managed to get in a bite and began to drag the prince down to the ground.

Christine screamed as she saw what happened and buried her face in her mother's shoulder. Her gift had allowed her to witness the attack and it scared her. She was crying, screaming hysterically. : "Angel?" she asked, trying to find out what had upset her daughter so. "He's hurt, Mama. There's a wolf and he's hurting him," she whimpered. "Oh, Mama, he's bleeding. Why weren't they there to save him?"

"Me? What am I doing? Nothing... Well. Trying to see how high I can climb." Brandon called back. "I bet that I can climb higher than you." Brandon cried as he climbed up another branch.
Looking down to see if Sky was following him. Brandon saw the wolf attack and start to drag him off. Brandon grabbed the bucket and tossed it at the wolf. Bucket and all. "Take that." he shouted.
