Mar snuggled with Bloom, stroking her fiery hair before he noticed something that he hadn't seen before. A delicate smattering of scales gracing her face. They were a soft irridescent array of reds and pinks.
"New look?" he asked, running a finger over one patches of the scales on her face, one settled on her forehead.

"Hmmm? Nope it's just the same old me. Why?" Bloom said having long since given up on make up, the waterproof stuff wasn't really all that water proof.

Mar handed her a polished stone so she could examine her reflection. "Because I don't remember seeing those scales before," he admitted. "I'm not sure if I should be happy or be worried."

Bloom took the stone and looked over her appearance, she really didn't see what the big deal was, she did have a tail it was only a matter of time until she got more scales. Setting the stone a side Bloom snuggled back against Mar. "Why should you be worried?"

"I was just afraid that your friends might not recognize you with the new look and I was afraid you'd fly off the handle if you got the scales." He stroked her long red hair. "But I think you're utterly lovely."
He did have to wonder how far her transformation into a pure mermaid was going to go before her friends turned her back - if they could turn her back.

"Flying off the handle as you so sweetly put it, is not going to make the scales disappear. And a it's going to take more then a few scales for them not to recoginze me, they knew it was me as soon as they saw me for the first time." Bloom said showing a little maturity for once. Leaning up Bloom kissed him, "You just think I'm lovely because I'm a red head."

"I think you're lovely, period," he said, kissing back. "Of course, we should do a through exam and see how much you've changed since you've gotten here. When you arrived all you had was the tail and the start of gills. Anything new besides the scales?"

"You'll have to look me over I seem to not be aware of all the changes but I do know that I have complete gills and these." Bloom said holding up her arm to show the beginnings of what could almost be decorative fins.

Mar examined the fins on her arms. "Lovely, but utterly useless. Decorative fins. Only females get them," he said, glancing up and down to spot anything else out of the ordinary. He couldn't spot anything new yet - but he'd give it time. "I know this may seem like a silly question, but do you remember what your friends called you?"

"I wanted to get a necklace with your name on it and since I've been calling you angel and love a lot," he laughed embarrassedly, "I had forgotten it." He stole a kiss. "So, Ariel," he purred, "what does my little mermaid want to do?"

"Hmmm what do I want to do?" Bloom said stealing the kiss back, "Sitting here in the sun, basking in your attention is appealing but then so is this," Bloom said, kissing him once more before slipping back into the water. When she wasn't running into rocks this was one of her favorite games.
