OOC: I'm a child of the 80s, dammit. Expect Flight of Dragons and a few other 80s cartoon references. And in the time line - this dates before Sky gets merged with Gorbash. A few days prior.
A distinct chattering noise was coming from whatever was underneath the veil in the back of the room. The sound was coming from a creature not native to this particular realm of magic. Normally, the creature was found near the sea shore - not in the midst of a classroom in the middle of a school in a world that was not their own. Thankfully, whoever brought them remembered to bring the queen* with them.
-
Chris entered the class room, well, had put one foot in the room when the sound of the chattering assaulted her. "Ah! The noise!!! I can't stand it!!!" she cried, grabbing her ears as she sank to the ground, tears streaking down her face. "Sand merks! Who the hell was the genius that brought us sand merks!"
She stood up slowly and backed away from the door, sweating from the strain of the movement. She was struggling to pull her thoughts together - having been dancing close to the edge after hearing the sand merks' chatter. This was going to be an interesting lesson. Considering that one could be driven mad due to the sand merks' chattering. Thank goodness there was a wall she could lean against. She didn't think she could stand on her own for much longer.
Her blue eyes wearily spotted one of her team mates. "Oi woul'n't go in thar," she said, gesturing to the room. "Tha beasties in thar are quite a danger." She was a hero, damn it. She was not suicidal or was she insane. One did not play with sand merks if one valued one's continued sanity. Her face was stained with the tears that she shed from the pain from having the sand merks play havoc with her mind.
* - you want to get rid of sand merks, you kill the queen. They can't function without her
