"What?" Quinn asked just seconds before he found himself in the pool.

"SWIM TIME!" Kevyn answered as she dived in next to her sputtering twin. The next few hours passed without any thoughts of the future as brother and sister splashed around, laughing and playing water games.

It was just days later when the Lady Estel arrived with her daughter. She entered the sitting room with a flourish. "My dear Lord Donovan. How are you? It has been a lifetime since we last met." OOC: just to keep things straight now in this thead. Female characters will be under Kevyn's name and male under Quinn's.

Not nearly long enough Donovan thought, while he might adore her daughter the Lady herself was a completely different story. Instead he said, "Lady Estel, your as lovey as ever." Offering a bow of greeting, which was returned by both women.

"And where is that son in law of mine?" she asked.

"He is out with his sister at the moment. but I am sure they will be home soon. You are a few hours early after all." He said, trying to be polite, Goddess the woman was irritating. "And this must be your daughter." He quickly diverted the on coming onslought of questions by changing his attention to the girl behind the Lady Estel.

"Yes well, you can blame the coachman for that." Estel said, taking the chair offered chair. "Her name is Anara." she said as if it was an after thought. "Say hello dear." "An honour Sir." She said politely. She couldn't wait to get out from under the watchful eye of the hag, in fact she couldn't wait for this whole affair to be over and done with. With any luck she'd be able to go home after the ceremony and would never have to see her husband again. This was a marriage of convenience after all, she would be under no obligation to stay afterwards.

Donovan smiled warmly at the girl. By the looks of her body language she'd taken the news about as well as Quinn, oh she hide it well but it was still there. And for some reason he couldn't help but remember a similar meeting many many, years ago. "Now I assume from your letters that you have agreed to let her stay then. " He addressed the Lady wanting to get the formalities over with so he could get the woman out of the room.

"Yes, yes, of course." Estel said off handedly, "Whatever you wish to do with her, once the ceremony has taken place, I certainly will no longer care." She stated. "Wait a minute." Anara interrupted before anything else could be said, "you want me to stay here?" "Why of course dear. Where else did you think you'd live? Not with us surely." "But you told me that as long as I went through with the ceremony I was free to do as I wished." "And so you will be. As long as your primary residence is at this estate." "That was not what we agreed to Mother." Anara said angrily. "No it's not. But it is what I agreed to and so you will do it."

Before this could go any further Donovan quickly intervened. "Lady Estel. Might I have a word with your daughter alone."

"I don't see why not." The Lady said curtly and flounced from the room.

Dear Goddess could the woman not even walk normally. Donovan rolled his eyes at the theatrical display thanking the Gods that Lady Estel showed no interest in continuing relations once this was over. Turning his attention to the sullen girl he gave her another warm and calming smile, "It seems there is much to discuss." She made to say something but he put a hand up, "Not yet." He said sitting, "Here. Sit and we will talk." She did. "Do you understand what is happening?" He asked kindly wanting to know exactly how much the Lady had hidden from the girl.

Meanwhile....
Quinn watched his sister haggle with the stall's owner. Her idea to kill time by shopping at market was a good one and he appreciated the chance to worry about something else other then his up coming marriage. Next they'd be stopping off at the orphanage to give her gifts to the children.

"16?! that's ridiculous. How about 12?" Kevyn offered, there was no way that the ball was worth 16.
"15." the stall owner, Omare, said.
"Come one you're killing me here. 11."
"14."
"10." Kevyn crossed her arms glaring at the infuriating man, who wasn't much older then Grandpa. The haggling went on for a few more minutes, the price going both up and down before they finally settled on a price of 13. "Thanks Omare, my kids will be so happy."
"As usual Kevyn you drive a hard bargain. But a slight loss is worth if it's for the kids." Omare smiled at her, she knew that she was going to get a discount anyway, he had such a soft heart, but then that would take away all their fun of arguing over the prices. "Is that Master Quinn with you?"
"Yeah that him."
"Been forever since he showed up down here. Nice to see the old dragon finally let him out of the house."
"Grandpa's not that bad. They've had a lot of work to do." Kevyn said taking the package from Omare and putting it in her bag off goodies.
"No? Then a lots changed since he was your age. Right little hellion he was."
Kevyn laughed, "I'm sure he was, but we'd better get going. The real dragon is coming to the estate today."
Omare laughed, "Yeah. I heard about that. Good luck." He waved Kevyn off, "Good day Master Quinn." He called as the twins moved on.

Quinn waved at the old man you called to him. "Was that Omare?" Quinn asked as they left the market.
