As the last notes of the song died down, Alice nodded her head gracefully at the audience and then made her way back down to her seat. As Alice reappeared at their table, Karina lightly applauded as she said, "You were truly wonderful, Al. Like an angel." With a wistful smile, Karina added in a light tone, "So that's one more thing that I can be envious of."

"Oh, stop," Alice admonished, lightly swatting Karina's arm. "We both know that you're very talented and don't you dare say otherwise. So you aren't the best singer - so what? You more than compensate for that with your other skills - like the way you can recite poetry like no one else. Or how you're the biggest tea aficionado around. And how you always manage to find the greatest obscure stores in Magix. So trust me, Kare, you're perfect the way you are."
As she gave Karina a warm smile, Alice inwardly was deeply saddened by her friend's complete lack of self-esteem. She really was one of, if not the, sweetest people she knew and it was just upsetting to see her consumed by so much self-doubt. But as much as she hated it, there really wasn't anything she could do to help her besides remind her from time to time of the fact that she needn't envy others when she already had so much to offer.

Feeling slightly embarrassed for allowing her personal issues to slip out from behind her facade of being fine with being sweet, ol' Karina, she quickly smiled and said, "I know, I know; I'm just being silly. Don't mind me. Really."
Looking for a distraction, Karina again turned to the stage and absorbed herself in Musa's enthralling performance.

Guessing where Kevyn's thoughts were wondering to with that sigh, Kaelin leaned over to her, "Your voice good, in fact I'm pretty sure I saw more then one person tapping their toe to your song." Kaelin said in a conspirator's tone. Kevyn smiled at him, "Thanks Kae." she said then sat back and watched more of the performances. Some of these girls were really good. She cheered Christine and a couple of others that she thought needed it.

A few moments later, Layla returned to the table and plopped down in her chair, looking a bit cross. Immediately reaching for her drink and taking a big gulp, she then folded her arms across her chest and said, "They don't have the music to any of the songs I would consider singing. Do you know what that means? That's right, I'm probably going to end up having to sing some silly song about a girl crying over some guy who left her." Scrunching her nose as though she had smelt a foul odor, Layla finished, "I mean, what's that about?" Flora gave her a mischievous grin. "Nothing says you can't change the lyrics but keep the same melody."

"Brilliant idea," Layla said with a grin before she feigned being distraught. "Except I'm not that creative."

"That's not true and you know it," Flora countered. "You're one of the most creative persons I've had the pleasure of meeting. I'm sure you could whip something together in no time flat."

Layla smiled and then said grudgingly, "Maybe . . ." Laughing suddenly, she shook her head in amusement, "Oh, what does it matter? It's just a song - just lyrics. I can sing one of those girly songs - well, I can if I don't start laughing midway through."

"You could use that to your advantage," Flora said suddenly. "Everyone would expect you to sing this gung-ho girl power song and then you stun them by doing a fluffy bubblegum type song. The crowd won't know what hit them and would give you quite a standing ovation."

"Either that or their jaws would hit the floor in dead silence," Layla said, having a good time poking fun at others' perception of her. She knew that most people thought she was some sort of feminist zealot - which she could very well be at times - but that wasn't all there was to her.

Musa decided signing up and giving it a try at singing. She liked to sing, and the others sang quite well. It looked like a quite interesting night, Musa thought.
She smiled as she heard her friends saying that she could win. She was there to sing, but if she won, it would make her night even better.

"Is there a Musa here?" the announcer asked waiting for her to appear on the stage and sing her song. ''Ah, yes!'' Musa said to the announcer. Then rushed to the stage, having the feeling that she was at least, a bit late. She hoped it was just an impression or something. But a little voice in the back of her head, was telling her that it wasn't. She had picked a song that she found interesting. It was from some video game, that she saw Tecna playing once. Alone for a while I've been searching through the dark For traces of the love you left inside my lonely heart To weave by picking up the pieces that remain Melodies of life--love's lost refrain Our paths they did cross, though I cannot say just why We met, we laughed, we held on fast, and then we said goodbye And who'll hear the echoes of stories never told? Let them ring out loud till they unfold In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out to me Though you're gone, I still believe that you can call out my name * A voice from the past, joining yours and mine Adding up the layers of harmony And so it goes, on and on Melodies of life, To the sky beyond the flying birds--forever and beyond So far and away, see the bird as it flies by Gliding through the shadows of the clouds up in the sky I've laid my memories and dreams upon those wings Leave them now and see what tomorrow brings In your dearest memories, do you remember loving me? Was it fate that brought us close and now leaves me behind? * Repeat If I should leave this lonely world behind Your voice will still remember our melody Now I know we'll carry on Melodies of life Come circle round and grow deep in our hearts As long as we remember OOC: I'm a bit worried about my song of choice. It was either that one or Eyes on Me. I love songs from Final Fantasy. And I guess that Musa would like... At least the tittle?

As Musa finished her song, Layla leapt to her feet, applauding loudly. The rest of the club immediately joining in, clearly in awe of Musa's fantastic performance, Layla grinned before she cupped her hands around her mouth and cheered, "Go, Musa!"

Musa smiled, as she noticed that people were singing with her, and her friends were cheering. She was happy and proud at the same time. Happy for singing.
