Guessing where Kevyn's thoughts were wondering to with that sigh, Kaelin leaned over to her, "Your voice good, in fact I'm pretty sure I saw more then one person tapping their toe to your song." Kaelin said in a conspirator's tone.

Rising out of her seat when she heard the announcer call her name, Alice turned to Karina and Christine and said with a small smile, "Wish me luck."
As she made her way to the stage, Alice felt her stomach churn briefly before she pushed the feeling aside and held her chin up confidently. She perhaps wasn't the best of the best when it came to singing, but she was rather good - as it was, no self-respecting female noble from her realm could get away with not learning how to sing and play the pianoforte like an angel.
The music she had previously selected beginning to play, Alice launched into her favorite ballad:
"A star shining in a universe far away My heart knows that we shall meet again some sweet day And you, you will be the flame that burns in my breast And oh, I know just by knowing you I was blessed. Yes I was truly blessed
Heaven, Heaven, ooh waiting there for me Heaven, Heaven, ooh always let it be
So why, tell me why the good die young, my old friend I pray that heaven waits for everyone in the end And love, love is how we cross that bridge to the light A star that is what you are in my darkest night Be always by my side
Heaven, Heaven, ooh waiting there for me Heaven, Heaven, ooh always let it be
Heaven, Heaven, ooh waiting there for me Heaven, Heaven, ooh always let it be"
As the last notes of the song died down, Alice nodded her head gracefully at the audience and then made her way back down to her seat.
OOC: The song Alice sings is "Heaven" by Hayley Westenra.

A karaoke night? Musa thought. It sure sounded like an awesome idea. She was walking on the street, and decided entering in the club. Singing would be awesome... She wondered how many people were waiting to sing in there? Her head bobbing in tune with the music, Stella suddenly spotted Musa out of the corner of her eye. Letting out a happy squeal, she jumped to her feet and pushed her way through the crowd to get to her friend. "Musa!" Stella cried out, throwing her arms around her. "When did you get here?" Not bothering to wait for an answer, she continued enthusiastically, "You've got to sing tonight - you'll win for sure." With a merry laugh, she finished, "They don't call you the fairy of music for nothing!" ''Stella! Are you going to sing?'' Musa asked, and smiled, as she heard Stella. ''I will sing tonight, but I wonder if there's a long queu behind me? I can't wait to sing!''

"Oh, no, I don't think I'll go up tonight," Stella replied before she paused and then said with a light push on Musa's arm, "That's you, Musa - the announcer's calling your name! Go break a leg!"

Flora just sipped a cup of tea, listening to the singers. She was more content to listen to the songs then actually sing - after all, like Karina, she was rather shy and prone to getting stage fright. She had tried out for the joint school play on a whim so she was rather shocked, still, that she was in it.

Spotting Musa and Stella chatting a few feet away, Layla grinned as she nudged Flora, "Looks like she's about ready to perform - what do you think? Musa for the win?"

"Oh, I say so. Although, if we went by crowd favorites, then Miss Strongheart might have a distinct advantage because this is the club she works at," Flora pointed out. "But yes, I do think Musa has a good chance of winning."

"Well then, I guess we'll just have to cheer extra loud for Musa to offset that advantage," Layla said with a good-natured laugh as she rested her chin in the palm of her hand.

"You going to take part, Layla?" Flora asked quietly, still sipping her tea. "Because I could see you doing fairly well in this competition."

Layla paused for a moment before she replied, "You know, I haven't really decided yet. Singing isn't really my thing, but it's not like I'm too terrible at it. And it would be fun . . . so tell you what, I'll do it if you do it too."

"One song. That's it. I'll do my solo number from the bi-school play," Flora said quietly. "The titular song from the play."

With a quick grin, Layla replied, "That's my girl. Now then," at this she pushed her chair back and stood up, "I'll go get us signed up."

Flora gave a shy grin and took another sip of her tea. She could only wonder at what Layla was going to do for her song - and it was so easy for her to be talked into doing something like this.

A few moments later, Layla returned to the table and plopped down in her chair, looking a bit cross. Immediately reaching for her drink and taking a big gulp, she then folded her arms across her chest and said, "They don't have the music to any of the songs I would consider singing. Do you know what that means? That's right, I'm probably going to end up having to sing some silly song about a girl crying over some guy who left her." Scrunching her nose as though she had smelt a foul odor, Layla finished, "I mean, what's that about?"
