"Most of the stuff in those notebooks was my handwritten copies of any books that could spell a clue on how to break the spell that was written at the time the curse was placed on the family. But what I don't understand, the curse is on Sky's family, correct? Then why didn't the king experience the same thing since it seemed as if the spell was aimed for the male members of the family. Unless, the king married into the family and the spell is drawn from Sky's mother's side of the tree..." she said softly, idly speculating.

Demetrius shrugged lightly as he said with a tired smile, "Like I said earlier, this is the first time I've heard of the curse, so I only know what I'm being told." Wryly, he added, "You probably know more about it than I do." Silent for a few moments, Demetrius then said, "I wish I could be of more help, but I don't know what I could possibly do . . ." A bright look suddenly coming to his eyes, he continued, "Well, maybe I can help - how would you like it if I got you some copies of more texts from the palace library?"

"If you can arrange that, I'd love it," she said, her eyes brightening. "One of them has bound to have a lead about this curse. Maybe even a way to break it." For once, she had found something she could succeed in. Next to Timmy and Riven, she was one who always had their head buried in a book researching something.

Demetrius nodded as he replied, "Well then, I'll see what I can do. I don't have a lot of personal time, but I have a few friends around the palace who might be able to help me out. You see, like I'm pretty sure you found out, if you want a copy of any of the texts in the palace library, it has to be written by hand as a precaution. Many of those books are so old - some probably going on at least six hundred years - that they're afraid that attempting to copy the pages with a machine would somehow damage them."

"The entire time I was confined to that bed, that was what I was doing. Transcribing all the information I could by hand. Of course, Sky tends to think that's a bit outdated since we have all these shiny gizmos and doodads. But I like writing things out by hand, makes it less easy to lose in a sense. At least I know those files won't vanish if the electrical gizmo gets a glitch." She gave an idle shrug.
"Whatever you and your friends can get me will be greatly appriecated."
