With a slight grimace, Demetrius shook his head, not bothering to explain that for the past few months the mere sight or smell of a steaming plate of food make his stomach churn and brought him dangerously close to vomiting - fortunately, as of late, he didn't have much in him to actually throw up. However, Demetrius did take up Aurelie up on her suggestion to seat himself. His body was worn out from traveling - or at least that was what he silently told himself - and the thought of giving his legs a break was the most appealing thing to have crossed his mind in what felt like ages.

Aurelie ignored the head shake, on sheer need. If he didn't eat - he'd get sick, if he'd got sick, all of them would be in trouble. She placed a bowl of thick beef stew in front of him and scooped up her daughter and walked over to grab a bottle from the fridge.

Closing his eyes briefly in attempts to calm his stomach, Demetrius then picked up his spoon and hesitantly took a bite. His body immediately trying to reject it, he forced it down anyway. It was too much of a pain, however, and Demetrius pushed the bowl away from him, opting instead to drink his glass of water. Liquids were the only thing he seemed to be able to keep down these days.

Abruptly rising from the table, Demetrius walked over to the kitchen window and sighed quietly. Being back in Linphea was taking more of a toll on him than he was willing to admit to himself or anyone else. And while it was good to see Aurelie and Léa doing well, he couldn't shake the memories he would always associate Linphea with. Those memories - the accident and seeing Mena die - would always ruin the beauty of this realm, would always leave him with a slight aversion to it. Of course, Demetrius thought as he continued to stare blankly out the window, he would never let Rowen or Aurelie know. They loved it here and they were proud of their realm and he just couldn't bring himself to let them know that he hated it.
