(OOC: This is a continuation of this thread winxclub.proboards31.com/index.cgi?board=Griselda&action=display&thread=1132943943&page=1) After the long walk from Griselda's office to the other side of the building, Palladium finally arrived at the nurse's office. Glancing down at Flora's face, Palladium was surprised that she had been asleep for so long. Furrowing his brow in thought, he wondered if perhaps there was something seriously wrong with her. Trying to brush aside this dismaying thought, Palladium pushed open the door, not bothering to knock since the door had already been open half-way. Stepping inside the office, Palladium frowned. Just as he had thought, the nurse was nowhere to be found. Sighing, Palladium walked over to one of the cots lining the wall. Choosing the one closest to the door, Palladium laid Flora down on it and then crossed the room to stand by the windows and wait for the nurse to arrive.

OOC: someone can NPC her in a post or two until we actually get her, just a thought
Flora whimpered softly when she left the safety of Palladium's arms. His arms was the only place she felt safe, protected. The sand merks had played havoc with her mind, damaging memories but thankfully not creating new ones.
The girl in her dreams looked familiar - but she couldn't place where. And it seemed strange that the Specialists didn't seem too upset when the girl collapsed.
"Please," she whimpered, still mostly asleep. "Don't leave me..."

Hearing the distress in Flora's cries, Palladium quickly returned to her side. Not knowing how to comfort her, Palladium decided it was best to wake her up; after all, it was obvious that her sleep was not benefiting her in the least.
Gently, Palladium reached over and shook her shoulder, hoping that she would be able to stay awake.

Flora's eyes opened slowly and she stared up at the professor. She wordlessly wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled herself up, burying her face in his shoulder and wept. She felt so lost and so alone. And she was beginning to doubt that the nightmares would end anytime soon.

Palladium froze when he felt Flora's arms wrap around him. He knew that he should carefully disentangle himself because it was highly possible that at any moment someone could walk in and catch them in another compromising position, which would invariably force him to face Faragonda and Griselda again . . . but. There was always a 'but,' Palladium thought. And this time that 'but' was that Flora needed him to comfort her.
Ignoring his better judgment, Palladium sat down next to her and then wrapped one arm around her body. With his other hand, Palladium soothingly stroked her back, deciding that he should put off asking questions until later.

Flora seemed to relax the minute he started to comfort her. This wasn't exactly how she wanted him to acknowledge her affections or show her affection but it was a moot point. All that mattered was at that particular moment, all the nightmares seemed to have less power.

When he felt Flora relax against him, Palladium felt some of his worry dissolve. Pulling back from her slightly, he asked quietly, "How do you feel? Do you need anything?"

"I still feel a bit weak and scattered. And what I need is for the nightmares to end," Flora whispered softly. Her eyes drifted away from him, almost in an effort to not entice herself to do anything foolish - like actually kiss him.

"These nightmares you've been having - what are they about?" Palladium asked, his voice inquisitive. Realizing that she may not wish to talk about them, he hastily added, "If you do not feel well enough to talk, I understand."

"There's this girl... she's with the specialists... She looks so fragile standing near them. And she has a gold rope binding her hands in front of her. And then she collapses and there's that horrid chattering sound. It won't leave..." Flora whispered.

Palladium narrowed his eyes in thought, his attitude suddenly changing from comforting friend to reflective teacher, "Hmm . . . I wonder, do you recognize this girl? Or is she simply someone your mind has created on its own?"

Walking into the nurses offic. "Ophelia, I got some of those herbs you wanted." She said. Looking around she realized that Ophelia was not there. But two others were. "Oops sorry, I did not mean to interupt you. I will leave in a moment. I want to put these where she will find them." walking over to the cuboard.

Palladium narrowed his eyes in thought, his attitude suddenly changing from comforting friend to reflective teacher, "Hmm . . . I wonder, do you recognize this girl? Or is she simply someone your mind has created on its own?" "She kind of looked like the singer that was at the school dance. But it doesn't make sense, why would there be a female in Red Fountain?" Flora asked quietly.

Palladium stood up quickly when he saw Professor Mali enter the room. The last thing he wanted was for her to feel as though something suspicious was occurring between Flora and himself; if that happened he had no doubt that he would be reported to Faragonda and Griselda.
Keeping his voice coolly distant for the sake of his new audience, Palladium answered Flora's question with an abrupt, "Yes, that is strange; however, more like likely than not your mind is simply playing tricks on you. You shouldn't worry yourself over it; I'm certain that it is nothing."
Inside, however, Palladium wondered if perhaps Flora's dreams were some sort of psychic occurrence. Mentally, he made a note to find out whether a side effect of the sand merks' chattering could be the development of psychic abilities. But it wouldn't do to worry Flora now; right now it was best if she thought that her dreams were just figments of her imagination.
