Expeling the breath that he had been holding in as he had waited nervously for Christine's answer, Sky smiled and wrapped an arm around her. "Drinks sound good - and perhaps a bit of dinner?" Fixing Christine with a stern stare, he added, "I noticed that you barely touched your food tonight."

Christine sheepishly blushed and ducked her head. "I guess I was a bit obvious," she said, looking up at him. "I guess that whole double date thing had killed my appetite, so, yeah, dinner would be good."

"Any place in particular you want to go?" Flashing her a grin, Sky added, "My treat."

"I have no preference. Ah, wait, I take that back. No Chelmsford or Full Moon Club," she said. "The first one, well, I want to wait until I'm comfortable going back in there after the events of tonight and well, Full Moon Club would make me feel like I should be working." She snuggled close and smiled up at him, feeling content for the first time in a long time. "So, you pick."

His forehead furrowing in thought, Sky tried to mentally compile a list of places he could take Christine. It couldn't be just any place either. It had to be special. It had to make up for the horrible night they had had earlier. It had to-
"I've got it!" Sky smiled triumphantly as he said, "There's this really nice restaurant in Magix that, according to Brandon, Stella was raving about - I think it was called the Oriental Lily or something to that effect. Apparently it has great food, an awesome atmosphere and," at this Sky colored slightly, "is perfect for dates." Quickly rushing ahead, he added, "So what do you think? Yay or nay?"

Christine colored prettily as well, this being her first true date with Sky. "Oriental Lily?" she repeated. "Sounds like it'll be a nice spot. I'm game," she said, smiling up at him. She squeezed his hand gently. "So, lead the way."

Gently taking Christine's hand in his own, Sky nodded as he said suddenly, "This is nice. You and me, I mean."
Inwardly, however, Sky already felt the familiar stirrings of doubt. Somehow, he had a feeling that his mother was going to have a fit when she learned that instead of totally ending things with Christine, he was now pursuing an active relationship with her. Wincing, Sky also knew that his mother was going to be even more irate now that she had been led to believe that he had actually hit it off with Alice and was game for dating her.
Feeling like a black cloud was hanging over his head, Sky fought desperately to push it away. He wasn't going to think of his mother tonight, no matter what. Tonight he was going to enjoy this dinner with Christine and he was going to stay in the moment.
He could worry about what to tell his mother later. Much, much later.
OOC: Do you want to continue the thread over at the Oriental Lily or shall I?

"We get so little time together even when we're on duty and in class. After all, our schedules have gotten so insane. I swear, Saladin's must have had me signed up for six or seven ethics courses ever since that night. I'm trying to drop at least half. And then there's the law classes," she said with a shudder. "Can you demand me back into the dragon wrangling class? Please?"
She blushed embarrassedly. "Sorry for ranting and rambling about school like that."
OOC: either or, whichever is easiest for you

"Don't apologize," Sky chided. "After all, that is what uh . . . boyfriends are here for - you know, for their girls to vent to whenever they feel like it." OOC: I can start it

"Then lucky for me, that your door is almost always open and I can just waltz in. Of course, I'll let you know in advance." She hugged him and gave him one of her soft rare smiles. "So, up for Chinese?"
