The names just kept coming. It was almost enough to give her a headache. Pausing with the mug halfway to her lips, Bloom closed her eyes again. There were five of them. No, six. She could see flashes of their faces, but none of them seemed to stand out nor attach themselves to a name. None except one.
“Sky...” she whispered, trying to make his image clearer in her mind, but it only faded away. Sighing, she opened her eyes again and turned a troubled look toward Flora. She wasn’t ready for this yet. How could she forget the people she loved?
“What’s wrong with Stella?”

"Ah," she started, before closing her eyes and shaking her head. "Okay, apparently Brandon got kidnapped by this mad scientist who experimented on him, turning him into a half human, half canine," she continued. "And Brandon doesn't remember loving Stella and he has a new girlfriend, a cat girl named Angelique."

“Wow...”
That was horrible! She couldn’t imagine how it must feel to know the one you love is with someone else. A memory surfaced then. She remembered Stella, and Brandon too. And Sky. Brandon was supposed to be married off in some bogus marriage, and Stella had fought tooth and nail to keep it from happening. Bloom felt her heart aching for her friend.
Suddenly, a lot more of what was going on seemed to make sense.
Magic.
How could she have forgotten that? That was the whole point of her being here at Alfea! She was a magical being, they all were. Magic had to have something to do with why she was in this situation.
“There must be some sort of reversal spell or something she can do? Something to give him back his memories?”

"She's working on it, it's just not progessing as quickly as she would like it," Flora said quietly. "And Brandon really does seem to like Angelique so it's going to be tense when he gets his memory back."
She paused. "Uh... Bloom, what do you remember about your relationship with Sky?" she asked, hedging. She knew she'd have to tell Bloom about what happened...

“Yeah, but it’s not real. Somebody made him into something, they made him forget that he loves Stella. He’ll remember that and everything will be fine again, you’ll see,” Bloom replied, a bit defensively. She remembered Stella and Brandon, remembered how they were together, and she couldn’t let that single memory be tarnished.
But suddenly it didn’t matter as Flora was doing the one thing Bloom had wanted to avoid: she was asking questions. She was questioning her, and by her tone, it was obvious this was leading somewhere not good. She wasn’t ready for this.
“I... don’t know,” she said, shortly, setting her mug aside and getting to her feet. With her back to Flora, she wrapped her arms around her stomach. “You know, I think I might try to sleep after all.”

"Sorry, Bloom," Flora apologized. "I just thought I'd ask so I could then tell the others what you knew so they didn't ask you questions causing you more emotional stress then you were ready for," she said quietly. Yeah, telling Bloom that Sky had a new girlfriend was not going to be a fun experience.

Whatever she had to say about Sky was going to cause her more emotional stress? Well, that proved that she really wasn’t ready to handle that right now.
“No, it’s okay. I’m just still reeling, you know?” she replied, throwing a weak smile over her shoulder at Flora. “I really think I should try to sleep, though. I’m sure you’ll know what to say to them. You always do.”
Heading back toward her bed, she stopped for only a moment longer, her voice barely a whisper as she spoke. One last sentence before she curled up in her bed.
“I remember we were happy...”

Flora nestled closer in the sofa, sipping her tea slowly. Well, that was rather interesting. She'd have to find a way to ease Bloom into what happened, gently.
Of course, Darkar would love to know this so she'd have to leave soon and let him know...
