Aldrich leaned back in his chair thoughtfully as he watched Strongheart exit the council room. The man was clearly irritated with him - as he should be, Aldrich thought dryly. After all, he had done nothing less than insult his daughter, but, in the long run, what did that matter? It didn't. All that did matter to him was his family and Eraklyon's success; he didn't have time to concern himself with some father's rage. Besides, he and Strongheart weren't that dissimilar. Strongheart was clearly focused on his family - as Aldrich himself was. They weren't apples and oranges, after all. Standing up, Aldrich suppressed the urge to yawn, although he had to admit, this news that Strongheart had shared with him was indeed exhausting. Already, Aldrich could see that when all was said and done, he would only be more tired. He almost wished that he didn't have to deal with it. But of course, duties could not be ignored and he would have to go dig his son out of trouble one way or another. Rubbing the back of his neck, Aldrich left the council room to go in search of his wife. She had better learn the news about Sky from him rather than some gossipy servant . . .
