Christine lay asleep, not wanting to open her blue eyes and greet the new day - not yet. She could afford to sleep a little later, it was vacation time for her at least. Nearby, she heard the faint sounds of her cousin's voice talking to Karina. Something about this not being Christine's normal habits.
So, she was on leave from school. She could afford to sleep late. Besides, she was the queen and if the queen wanted to sleep in, then the queen could damn well sleep in.
She stirred ever so slightly when the covers got yanked off. "Tash, go 'way. Too early," she mumbled, burrowing into the indentation in her bed. She sneezed a few times during her haze and then sat up, grabbed her sheets and curled up into a tight ball.

Tash watched with a little amusement at Chris burrowed back under the covers. "To early for what? It's mid-afternoon, I agreed to leave you alone all morning and I did but this, this is insane even for you." Tash informed her friend.

"Sleepy," she muttered, not wanting to leave her bed, besides, it was cold out and she didn't feel like leaving her warm bed. And it really couldn't be that late... "And cold." She sneezed again and sat up slowly, her eyes slightly glazed over and her bangs plastered to her forehead, her cheeks flushed and she looked damp, almost as if wet from a fever trying to break and failing. "And have headache so shh..." she said before she sank gracefully back down in her bed. Why wouldn't the headache just leave her alone? It felt like someone had just set off an explosive device in her head.

"I brought you some tea," Karina interjected helpfully as she seated herself on the edge of the bed. "Hot off the stove too." Wafting the cup delicately by Christine's nose to let her take in the wonderful aroma, Karina held it just out of her friend's reach. With a firm look, Karina rose and set the cup on the nightstand, just out of Christine's reach. "Now then, if you want it, you have to get up." With a smile and a sing-song voice, Karina teased lightly, "And I know you want it."

Christine was tempted to curse out her two vexing handmaidens but decided that she was going to save that for when she was feeling much better. Sitting up slowly, the headache not disappating for a moment, she reached over and grabbed the cup of tea.
She sipped it slowly, her eyes still closed.

Watching Christine sip her tea in silence, Karina sighed inwardly. Okay, so her little attempt to make her friend feel better had clearly failed. From the looks of it, Christine looked like she was on the verge of biting her off and that wasn't something Karina particularly felt like enduring that day.
Slipping unnoticed past Tash, Karina rooted herself by the window, her right hip resting lightly against the sill. Drawing back the curtains slightly so that a small sliver of light entered the room, Karina stared out at the landscape, her fingers tracing invisible patterns on the glass. Lovelylocks was a nice place, but it wasn't exactly home. It still felt like she was just a visitor; it didn't help matters either that Tash and Christine were related. They had such a close bond that Karina couldn't help but feel like she was just on the outskirts of things. Sighing, Karina wrapped her arms around her slender waist; perhaps she ought to cut this trip to Lovelylocks short - at least for herself. After all, she still have school and since she wasn't exactly the smartest student, one that could afford not to go to class for a few days, Faragonda hadn't exactly been pleased with her request to take some time off. And the look Griselda had given her had almost been enough to make Karina swallow down her words. But here she was.
With another soft sigh, Karina walked back over to Christine's bedside as she rummaged through her small handbag. Pulling forth a bottle of pills, Karina held them out to Christine. "Aspirin. You look like you need it."

Christine opened one eye and spotted the white pills of joy in the bottle in Karina's hand. "Can I call you Saint Karina?" she asked, taking the pills from Karina and swallowing two. "Because, you are. Oh, aspirin, how I love you." She tried to keep from coughing but failed - miserably.

Karina's answer was a simple smile as she tucked the bottle of pills back into her purse. Aspirin was a potent drug and Karina had no doubt that, in a little while, whatever was ailing Christine would vanish and she'd be as good as new again.
Well, except for that cough.
Wrinkling her nose, Karina tipped her head as she suggested, "Perhaps we ought to send for your physician; I'm no expert, but even I can tell that that coughing doesn't sound good."

Christine was about to protest that it was just a small cold, that she didn't need to see a doctor, but the look on her two handmaidens' faces indicated otherwise. Giving a small sigh of acceptance, she nodded. "All right," she said softly. "You can send for him."

Nodding, Karina reached down and gave Christine's hand a comforting squeeze, "You just stay in bed until the doctor comes. We'll let him be the judge of whether or not you should be up and about."
Quietly exiting the bedchamber, Karina padded softly down the hall in search of a servant to relay the message to the doctor that Christine required his services.

OOC: ::shakes fist:: it ate my post! Christine had been sound asleep when she was awoken by the now all too familiar voice of Doctor Sterling, the doctor who had taken care of her following the Wolf fiasco and the return to dragon wrangling too early fiasco. Father had hired him for some reason and now she couldn't get away from him. Wooby do. "Didn't wrangle dragons this time," she said, trying to put a little humor into the meeting this time. : Sterling's lips just quirked upwards in a wry smile before he began to examine the queen. Frowning, he pulled away and turned to face the handmaidens. "I fear the queen is far sicker than she's allowing you to see. It seems like it might be the start of pneumonia. So, unless it's absolutely necessary for her to be up and about, I recommend plenty of fluids and bed rest."

"Well that's not going to be hard to follow. There are one to many people here who will be standing over her until she gets better." Tash said, standing back out of the way. "Antibiotics or anything else we can give her to help with the healing process?" Tash asked, wishing that her mother was here, Mali would know more about pneumonia then Tash did.

"Think there is anything that Shining Glory would be able to do in the mean time?" Tash asked, figuring that by now Doctor Sterling knew who the wizard was.

: "He'd probably say the same as me. Keep her in bed, resting. Plenty of fluids and whatnot. We want her well enough to pull off that wedding you have planned," he said with a wink.
