"You're doing fine," Christine said, finally relaxing. "I think I'll sit it a little while longer and then head off to find him."

"Do you want me to wait with you or would you rather be alone?" Karina asked supportively.

"Wait with me, please," Christine said softly, not wanting to be left alone right now. Her nerves were still a bit frazzled from the events. She was still trying to calm down enough to think.

Having gone outside to get away from all the people, Sky stood silently, his hands lightly resting in his pockets. Yes, he was glad to be alone. To have some air to breathe. To be able to process all that had just happened in the span of a few minutes. Things certainly had changed. One moment he was cursed and the next, he wasn't. His mother would certainly be pleased to hear that, Sky thought absently.
His thoughts shifting again, a part of Sky still wondered, however, if things had really changed. True, he wasn't cursed anymore - but did that change how things were between him and Christine? How his mother felt about her? No, not really, he decided with a frustrated sigh. He and Christine were still at square one and he had the feeling that it was going to stay that way. That despite anything they may try, it would never work.
Moving to sit down on a lone bench, Sky's shoulders sagged slightly. Perhaps this was a sign from the universe telling him that he and relationships just didn't work. That he should just give up on trying to find his 'soul mate.' That it was better to just suck it up and get an arranged marriage like a respectable royal should.
As those thoughts swarmed Sky's mind, all the elation he had felt at having been freed of his curse faded and in its place, he was left only with emptiness.

Christine looked at Karina. "Karina? Do you think that even though I helped him, I proved to him how I felt," she started. "I just get this feeling that I'm never going to be good enough for him..."

Shaking her head, Karina looked down at her hands as she answered, "I honestly don't think that he thinks you're not good enough for him. I mean, even though I don't have much experience when it comes to guys, I'm not a complete idiot. I see the way he looks at you and it's obvious that he cares a lot. More than a lot. I think he wants to be with you but I don't think he thinks he can. I mean, from what I've read about Eraklyon, it's a pretty strict realm and so maybe it's not so much that he doesn't think you're good enough as it is he doesn't know how to go against what he's grown up with? I don't know - none of this royalty stuff makes much sense to me. I'm from a realm that doesn't have kings and queens and stuff like that and to be frank, I like it better. Where I'm from, no one is better than anyone else; there aren't any silly social ladders or laws about who can marry who . . . I don't know. It just seems kind of silly to me to put that much stock on someone's blood and not who they actually are."

"I know what you mean. Growing up, the only time I was treated like a princess was when I was here in Lovelylocks," she said softly. "But this whole pureblood thing makes me think of Earth literature," she added with laugh.
She stood up slowly. "Wish me luck, because I think now is the time I should discuss this with him."

Giving Christine's hand a comforting squeeze, Karina rose to her feet and then said, "Good luck - and don't worry about the guests." Smiling, Karina added before she slipped away, "I'll make excuses for you so take as long as you need."

"Thank you," she breathed before walking outside to find Sky. They seriously needed to sit down and talk. Enough with being put on the backburner, they truly needed to talk and air things.

Hearing footsteps coming up behind him, Sky sighed as he rested his forearms on his lap. Whoever it was, he wished that they'd just go away and leave him to his thoughts. Perhaps they would. Perhaps they would just walk on by-
When the footsteps stopped, Sky briefly closed his eyes and then turned around. His eyes widening slightly at the sight of Christine, Sky remained silent for a long moment before he cleared his throat and said, "Is the ceremony finished already?"

"Not quite, but I needed to recover before I could continue." She settled down next to him. "How are you?" she asked softly. "Think you're completely cured? No more turning into a werewolf because Wolf bit you years ago?"

"I don't know," Sky replied, his face impassive, as he idly twiddled his thumbs. "I hope not, that's for sure." Pausing he then added, "Because I'm tired of this, you know. I'm tired of feeling like the life I'm living isn't mine. I just want to be normal again and hopefully, my wish has been granted. That this mess is behind me once and for all."

She leaned against him. "Bet your mother's going to be happy," she said quietly. Her head rested gently against his shoulder. "So, what do you want to do with Byron?" she asked. "He did this to get to you. I'm thinking of banishment, but..." her voice trailed off.

"You're the queen," Sky said with a faint smile. "So it's your choice as to what you want to do with him." Lightly nudging her shoulder, he teased, though it was clear that his heart wasn't fully in it, "I'm just a lowly prince so I don't have the power to make such an important decision."

"I suppose," she said quietly. "I just don't think banishment will work and killing him won't help," she continued. "I just don't know, I just don't know. I'm just scared if I let him live that he'll try again, but I don't know if I can live with the blood on my hands..."
