OOC: takes place the same time as Prisoner
Christine stood outside, staring out at the surrounding region. A cold wind blew past her and she shuddered in an attempt to get warm. The cream colored gown she had on was made from a flimsy material, hardly enough to keep her warm. Silently, she wished she had Sky's cloak - or at least something to keep her warm, even Sky would be nice. She smiled at the thought of Sky wrapping his arms around her, holding her close. But that pleasant illusion shattered as she recalled Sky's current attitude. "I'm more a bird in a gilded cage here, than I was back home," she murmured to herself, finding the bitter amusement in that realization.
She sighed quietly and then froze as she sensed someone approach her from behind. She slowly turned her head to glance over her shoulder to see who was behind her. "And what does the dark prince want with the seer?" she asked, trying hard not to lean against him. She would have loved to have leaned against him and have him wrap his arms protectively around her. She turned around to look up at him, her heart wrenching as she saw the scars she had inflicted on him. "Shouldn't you be inside with him, gloating over the fact that you have the first Codex - the first piece of the puzzle to enter the Realm of Realix?" she asked. "Or did you come out here to mock my faith in my prince?"
Her blue eyes glanced away. She had so much hope and faith in Sky - always had. He had saved her so many times that for her not to have faith and hope in him seemed... silly. He saved her from the wolves as a child. Brought her back from whatever spell that the sand merks had her under. Brought her back from who knows how many visions. Came here to save her and gave in to Darkar if only to protect her. And he saved her countless number of times since then.
She turned her head back when she felt something touch her face. "Wha?" she started to ask before stopping. Her blue eyes widened.

Sky laughed as he removed his hand from her cheek. "What? Did you think I was your little Lyon?" His voice dripping with sarcasm he continued, "Well, I apologize for disappointing you, but there are some things even I can't help - such as your Lyon's inability to defeat me." Standing with his hands planted firmly on his hips, Sky finished, "As for why I'm out here, I thought it'd be nice to get a bit of fresh air . . . and to gloat over my success, of course. After all, what kind of dark prince would I be if I didn't?"

"A lousy one," she admitted quietly, a small wry grin forming on her features. She steeled herself, took a deep mental breath, and in a move of equal parts bravery and idiocy... She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulled herself up and kissed him passionately. She didn't care how he reacted. She drew back slightly and looked at him, far too much passion sparkling in her eyes.
"Darkar may control my body, but you have my soul," she whispered. "What do you want me to see," she whispered, "my heart." It was a dangerous game she was playing - but her loyalty belonged to Sky and Sky alone. He had been her team leader so it made sense that she'd be loyal to him.
She looked demurely at the ground, her head resting against his chest, not wanting to see what expression played out on his features after she so boldly kissed him. She didn't care. She did what felt *right*.

At her outrageous move, Sky burst into laughter, his shoulders shaking and his chest heaving as he pushed her body away from his. "Please do not tell me that you thought that kissing me would suddenly make me transform back into your Lyon as though this were some kind of fairytale." Shaking his head in amusement, he continued, "Although, perhaps I am wrong and this is a fairytale - meaning that a kiss by my true love is all I need to revert back into the prince of goodness. Unfortunately for you, that would mean that my true love is someone else since clearly your kiss did not have that effect on me. Perhaps you should go find Bloom to see if her kiss would be more successful - although I wonder which would hurt you more: to know that Bloom is the one for me or to see your Lyon remain forever dark."

Christine said nothing for a moment as she thought about what she was going to say. "Do I look like I care that my kiss had no effect? I didn't kiss you hoping to break Darkar's control over you. I kissed you because I love you. I always have and I always will. No matter what you do to me, you will always have my love and my heart."

"You know, I always thought that Bloom was the overly sappy, emotional one, but now I have to say that you take the cake for that title," Sky replied blandly. "You know, if I was your friend I would suggest to you that you move on from your dream of a quaint little life with your prince because nothing will ever come of it. But I'm not your friend - and so I must say, I rather enjoy watching you flounder about in your pathetic puppy-dog existence."

Christine's blue eyes sparked with anger and she slapped him hard across the face. "Forgive me if I try to be the light to your darkness," she hissed. "I'm the only true ally you have. Darkar sides with Demeter and Demeter can't stand you. She's ready and willing to hex you into the next century."

"The light to my darkness?" Sky asked incredulously, the slap barely phasing him. "Oh come on - stop with all the flowery, pseudo-romantic, pansy language; it's enough to make me sick. And as for Demeter, let her hex me; hell, it could even be fun to be turned into a tree - at least that way I wouldn't have to put up with you throwing yourself at me constantly."

"You know, a tree would be too damn good for you. You're nothing more then a beast!" she snarled. "And who the hell do you think you are telling me what I can and can not do?" A look of amusement crossed her features. "I. Pity. You." She knew he hated it when someone pitied him.

A dark scowl crossed Sky's features as he replied, "How quickly you change sides, Christine. First you claim to love me regardless of whether I'm good or evil - and yet now you claim I'm virtually worthless. Fickle, fickle girl; you really ought to make up your mind what I am to you."

"Don't you know it's my right as a female to change my mind as often as I wish," she said, a look of amusement etched across her features. "What's the matter, Princey? Is the girl that's hopelessly devoted to you driving you mad?" she threw her head back and laughed. "Good."

Sky replied bluntly, "Hardly." Crossing his arms across his chest, he arched a brow as he continued, "In fact, I should actually thank you for reminding your Sky why he does not want to return to the good side - if he did, he'd just have to put up with you, except, unlike me, he won't have it in him to say what he really thinks of you. With me as his shield, your Lyon can finally say all the things he's thought about you but was too much of a weakling to actually say to your face."

Christine's eyes softened and she reached for the locket, before remembering it had been broken and that she lost it. "Mind handing me your dagger?" she asked quietly. "If it's all the same to you... I rather be dead then serve Darkar.... Or watch the man who has my heart destroy everything."

"Oh, stop being so melodramatic," Sky scoffed in irritation. "You'll do nothing of the sort because Darkar needs your . . . gift. But like Darkar said, after he no longer requires your services, you'll be free to do as you wish - and at that point in time, I'll be more than happy to lend you my dagger."

Christine didn't say anything, just was quiet. "My gift? Don't you mean my curse? Let's use the right word when we discuss it," she said quietly, lifelessly. "He won't tire of my services. A seer's valuable." She placed her hands on the ledge. "Promise me one thing. Just one thing. Promise that when Darkar's done using me... make it a swift death for me. Don't drag it out."
