"I doubt she will help you. In fact, I think she might try to kill you if you even dare to harm the pixies," she said, her tone icy. "By the way, you might want to blot that blood off your face. And oooo, those are going to be lovely scars."

Sky arched a brow as he lightly ran the pads of his fingers over the cuts. With a grin, he replied, "Perhaps I should actually thank you for this - after all, scars will make me look more sinister and less like your pretty prince." Pausing for a moment, Sky then continued, "As for Layla, I think you are absolutely correct in saying that she will fight me - but as strong as she is, she is no match for me. Honestly, if Riven didn't stand a chance against me, do you think our little water fairy will?"

"Because she has something Riven doesn't have," Christine said, cryptic as always when dealing with these matters. "She has a gift that he doesn't." She fell silent, not feeling the need to expand on it. She would not give away secrets that were not hers to share. Sky would learn, and learn soon enough.

"Gift or no gift, it matters not, " Sky replied dismissively. "You see, we still have you - you who is a seer. The way I see it, you can just have another one of your fun little visions to pinpoint where Pixie Village is. Of course having a vision in that much detail will take its toll on your body - perhaps we'll almost lose you again. Sounds lovely, doesn't it, Christine? Yeah, I didn't think so. Well, that is why I'm offering you an escape from that pain. Tell me Layla's secret and then you won't have to have a vision. Let her suffer for you; after all, what's it to you? You don't even know her - so why not let her take the fall?"

"It is not my secret to tell! I rather die then betray another like that. Unlike you, I still have a heart," she snapped. She looked away, not wanting to even acknowledge the demon that the man she loved had become. Tears streaked down her face as she knew she was the light to Sky's darkness.

"Why so loyal to someone you hardly know? It seems rather silly and naive to me, but perhaps you are right - perhaps I just lack, what was it you said? A heart?" Pausing for a moment, Sky tilted his head slightly as he examined Christine. A light dawning in his eyes, he asked curiously, "This gift of Layla's, you have seen it in a vision, haven't you? You must have; it's the only plausible explanation considering that you've met her but once. Tell me then, is she even aware of her 'gift', whatever that may be?"

Christine was silent, not bothering to answer Sky's question. As she had said, it was not her secret to tell. Besides, whether or not Layla knew about her... Charmix? Was that even a word? No matter... Whether or not Layla knew about it now was a moot point - she would know about it sooner or later. Hopefully before Sky attacked Alfea and the Pixie Village.

Sky rolled his eyes in frustration as he muttered under his breath, "Great. Silent treatment. Just great." Turning back to Christine, he shook his head as he said, "Very well. Don't talk. One way or another, I'll get the information I want. You'll see."

That was one point scored by her in this current battle of wills between them. She gave him a small half smile, a slightly smug small half smile. She would avoid answering any of his questions that would endanger her friends - fairies, pixies and specialists.
She closed her eyes and sang softly, not paying too much attention to what she sang. "The way that you - Embrace me with your strong and powerful arms - Your haunting words - Keep me close - To everything about you - Romantic in ways - In ways that almost tear upon my heart - Can't let you go - Don't you know - Io sono prigioniera - A captive in your gentle hands - A prisoner of your soulful eyes - Your special smile - We'll never part - If the morning sun should free me - It really wouldn't let me go - I'd still be caught inside your love - Can't rise above - The chains of your heart."
OOC: dubbed opening theme to Record of Lodoss Wars. I *love* that song

Sky stared at Christine's pleased expression, feeling mildly amused. She obviously thought she had made a victory - unfortunately for her, she was falling right down the slippery slope of misguided belief that she was winning the fight. True, she may have won this battle, but how did the saying go? Winning a battle does not mean that you've won the war. Laughing quietly, Sky grinned. He would still win yet.

"Tell me," she said, turning to look at Sky. "Do you think you can fight Bloom? She did beat Icy without breaking a sweat. She's incredibly powerful. And she loves you."

Sky sobered slightly at this thought. Choosing his words carefully, he replied, "Bloom is powerful - easily the most powerful of all the fairies. But, with Darkar on my side even she cannot touch me. But, to answer your question, no, I would not fight Bloom - I would recruit her. She could become my dark . . . fairy princess. You see, even I need a companion."

Christine's icy composure melted and she looked away, not wanting to let him see her cry again. She couldn't stand his hurting her. "Why not take your sword and ram it through my heart? Kill me now, rather then let me suffer," she said bitterly.

Demeter was silent through the whole show. Honestly, he was a Demon. Daimon? Yes, that would make a nice name for him. She'd suggest it later. "Do you always try to destroy your fairy princess? A shell of a seer is worthless to us. You know this."

"Have you forgotten so quickly?" Sky asked sarcastically. "I'm evil now; watching you suffer is so much more entertaining than having you dead. But don't worry, soon - after all four Codexes are in Darkar's hands - you'll get your wish because you just won't be necessary to keep around any longer - unless of course, you decide to join our side."
