: "Thank you," he said quietly, smiling. "Any help you can give me will be great."

"Welcome, going to show me what I'm up against?" Bloom asked she needed something to do; it was becoming apparent her friends wouldn't be visiting her today.

: "Sure, this way," Mar said, leading Bloom down to his garden. Several good sized snails were seen munching on several of the flowering underwater plants.

"Wow, those are a lot bigger then the snails I've seen, they're certainly well fed." Bloom said staring at the snails. "Now have you ever noticed if there is a certain plant that they avoid?" Bloom asked studying the plants before her.

: Mar swam a short distance away and came back with a lovely lavender plant. "The snails seem to hate this. Don't its name though," he admitted.

OOC: I hope it's okay for Stella to butt in Pushing aside the tall grass that lined the pathway down to the lake, Stella grumbled to herself in mild irritation. She loved Bloom to death and she knew that it was her duty to visit her - but dear lord, how she hated that grass! It made her itch and it scraped her legs and it just made her want to take a long soak in the tub - with bath salts and scented candles, of course. Unfortunately, that wasn't happening any time soon. Lugging the picnic basket she had brought filled with goodies for Bloom (the poor girl was probably starved for real food), Stella called out from a distance after checking to make sure the coast was clear, "Bloooom, you'll never guess what I brought!"

: Mar heard something and surfaced quickly and quietly. He blinked his dark eyes and brushed his white blond bangs off his forehead. "Bloom will be with you in a moment. She's helping me with bit of a snail problem."

Momentarily stunned at the sight of the white-blond person in the water, Stella stood frozen in place, a thousand thoughts running across her mind - the main one being, who was this guy? And where exactly was Bloom? And had he found out Bloom's secret? Shaking her head, Stella knew that answer: of course he had. How could he have not? After all, it was kind of difficult to miss seeing a big floppy tail - even if it was in the water.
After several more moments of frantic thoughts, Stella cleared her throat and clasped her basket tightly in her fists as she asked casually, "So . . . who are you?"

: Mar pulled himself on the bank of the lake, a light blue tail forming where human legs should have been. "I'm Mar, formerly the only merperson in that lake," he said before slipping back into the water. He gave her a shy smile. "Ah, it's a long story about how I got here, and a painful one so, please, don't ask..."

At the sight of his tail, Stella's eyes widened as she exclaimed, "Why, you're a merman! How utterly fantastic! This must mean that you and Bloom are good friends, right?" Rambling on, Stella continued, "I must say I'm relieved and ecstatic. Relieved because I was afraid that you were just some random guy who was going to rat out Bloom's secret - which you obviously aren't going to do - but now I'm ecstatic, because Bloom can't be lonely in the lake with you here, can she?"

: "Can't "rat" her out without ratting myself out," Mar said. "I was one of Alfea's best kept secrets until Bloom joined me. She's trying to coax me into doing the reveal thing a bit more often." He didn't feel like telling Stella that they started out not liking each other. "And she hasn't made fun of my poor cooking skills..."

Bloom took the plant and continued to plot. "It doesn't matter if you know it's name or not. Now if you were to plant this in between your other plants and around the edges you shouldn't have a problem with snails anymore." Bloom continued oblivious to the fact Mar had disappeared. "What do you think?" Bloom asked turning to get Mar's thoughts about his garden. Only to find him gone. "Mar?" she called, when not getting a response. "Where the hell did he go? I agree to help and he disappears on me." Bloom muttered to herself.
Deciding that if Mar was not going help her then she wasn't going to help him. She would quickly take one more look to see if anyone had come to see her then she would go back to her cave.
Bloom surfaced not that far away from where Mar and Stella where talking. So that was where Mar disappeared off to, for someone who only let a couple of people know he was here; he sure was acting friendly. "Was the whole revealing thing all that hard?" Bloom asked announcing her presence as she moved closer.

Seeing Bloom break through the surface of the water, Stella waved as she called, "Hey, sweetie! How are you?" Pointing at the basket that she was still holding, Stella smiled as she said, "I thought that you might be hungry for some real food - so I brought you some of the essentials. You know: cake, cookies, some fresh-baked bread that I snitched from the kitchen - I'm just glad that Cook wasn't in there or he would have had a cow because I took his precious food."
Waving the basket above the water teasingly, although careful not to get her shoes wet, Stella continued in a sing-songy voice, "But if you want any of this, Bloom, you're going to have to swim over here and get it yourself because you know me - I can't stand getting in the water." Turning up her nose, she finished daintily, "It simply doesn't agree with me."

"You know, I'm always amazed that with all the time you spend washing your hair, you still don't like water." Bloom told Stella with a grin moving closer. Shifting some of her hair over the bruise on the shoulder that Mar bit, Bloom reached the shore and pulled herself up near where Mar was sitting. "We don't want you getting wet. Now tell me about what I am missing." Bloom demanded as she took the basket from Stella. Breaking sections of the bread off, Bloom handed them out. As Stella started to gossip about the school, Bloom bit into her piece of the fresh bread and watched Mar's reaction to eating bread.

Crossing her arms, Stella made a face as she replied, pointing to the lake water, "But that water has things growing in it." Shuddering, Stella continued, "Who knows what that would do to my beautiful hair!" Glancing over at Mar, she said with a cheery smile, "No offense, of course - I'm sure the lake is a very nice home for you." Returning her attention back to Bloom, she admonished, "Besides, you know my locks are only used to nice, clean, straight out of the faucet, water. Can you imagine the havoc I would wreak on it if I exposed it to anything else? It would be an utter disaster!"
Flipping her hair over her shoulder, Stella smiled. "Well, now that that is out of the way, what was it that you wanted to know, Bloom? What you're missing? Not much, really. In fact, you should be glad that you don't have to attend classes - they're such a drag. Professor Palladium keeps droning on about some 'amazing' potion and Wizgiz is his same old crazy self - the only perk to that class is that he never gets around to assigning homework. But you already knew that."
