Brandon finally gathered enough engery to get up. He saw the elves having council, and Flora once again by herself and he still had one hell of a headache. Going over to Flora, "I do believe that I owe you my life. All I can say is Thank you, and the offer if you ever need anything I will always be here." Brandon fell silent and just stood beside her.

Flora glanced up at Brandon and gave him a ghost of a smile. "You're welcome," she said quietly. "And.. thank you."

"It's true. Now before you sink back into your state of misery, do you have anything or know of anything for a headache?" Brandon asked.

"Not off the top of my head, and believe me, I'd be sharing whatever I had," Flora said quietly. She was trying hard not to cry and make a scene after hearing what the elves had said.

"It's him isn't it?" Brandon asked just loud enough from Flora to hear, this would explain a lot.

Flora gave a barely noticable nod of affirmation. "It's why Helia and I aren't an item like Stella hoped we'd be."

"Oh, Come here Flora, I can't stand to see a woman cry." pulling her into a hug. "So do you want me to beat him up?" yes it was against his policy but damn it if this guy was going to make Flora hurt then Brandon would do it.

"As much as I would love it, I don't think it's right. He made his descion, now I have to live with it," she said, burying her face in Brandon's shoulder and crying.

Palladium stared at Cora in silence for a moment before leaning down and placing a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Close your eyes and rest; I'll return in a little bit to take you back inside, all right?"
Smoothing back a strand of Cora's auburn hair from her forehead, Palladium then stood up, glancing over his shoulder at Flora sitting by the water's edge with the Specialist.
Quietly approaching the two, Palladium asked, "Flora, may I speak with you alone for a moment?"

Flora pulled free of Brandon's arms and gave him a faint thankful smile. "Of course, Professor," she said quietly, her voice an odd blending of exhaustion, pain, and lack of life. She followed him and waited to hear what he had to say.

Clasping his hands behind his back, Palladium studied Flora's face and expression as he stood with his feet planted firmly on the ground, already having regained much of his strength.
Exhaling quietly, Palladium asked with a faint smile, "What happened here tonight, Flora? You needn't be afraid to tell the truth - you can speak to me freely, you know."

"I'll tell you everything I can remember," Flora said quietly. "I came out here, needing fresh air. Brandon came out to check up on me, and we talked for a bit. Then he offered to dance with me so I could at least say I had one dance at the party. Then that wendigo came out of nowhere and that's the last I remember."
She closed her eyes and struggled to remember. "I could hear a voice but I couldn't tell you it belonged to. It was saying something but... It was so faint, barely could make out what it was saying."

"I will not lie to you, Flora: I fear that a dark magic has infected you somehow. When it happened, I cannot say; for all we know, it may have happened long ago but had remained hidden, dormant. I do not wish to frighten you, but you must know, when you lost control earlier, my senses told me that your aura was not at all pure. At the moment, you seem to have returned to normal, but I think for your own safety it will be best to return inside now and speak to Ms. Faragonda and Griselda at once. The sooner we can determine what exactly happened, the better it will be . . . for all of us."

Floar shivered, not just from the cold. "You'd think all the trouble we went through year one would have been enough to last a lifetime, several lifetimes," she said, trying to make a joke - and failing. She could feel the darkness again, stronger then it was before. She struggled to keep it under control, not wanting the professor to sense it.

Nodding grimly, Palladium replied, "Yes, well, we mustn't think of that; all we must focus on is making sure that whatever caused you to react in that way does not regain control of you again." Quietly, he continued, "Whatever it was, Flora, it was dangerous. We can only hope that we can find a solution before it returns." His voice flat, Palladium finished gravely, "Because I have no doubt in my mind that it will return."
Looking past Flora's shoulder at Cora and Brandon, Palladium shook his head, clearly tired and preoccupied. "We should return indoors immediately; it will be safer that way." Pausing, Palladium looked at Flora concernedly and then asked, "Do you think you can manage to walk that far?"
