"All you'd have to do is lead him into a clever trap and leave the rest to me," she said, stealing a kiss. "Besides, I doubt the curse would last too long. Maybe a week to a month. Sound fair?"

"No, it doesn't sound fair," Riven answered, his tone suddenly becoming cold. "Why is it so damn difficult for everyone to understand that I'm sick and tired of having anything to do with Sky? First Christine wants to keep me around to 'keep an eye' on him and now you just want to use me so that you can get to Sky to amuse yourself." Jerking to feet, Riven finished flatly, "Coming here was a mistake. I don't know what the hell I was thinking."

Eying Darcy warily for a moment, Riven then sat down and said, "That's more like it." His features relaxing again, he continued, "So what should be on the agenda for today? Feel up to a bike race? I seem to remember that you're rather good at them."

"Find me a decent bike and you're on, handsome," she said, leaning over to steal a kiss. "Bet I can beat you fair and square."

"I doubt it," Riven said with a deep laugh. "I've been practicing more than usual lately and I have to say, I'm unbeatable now." With a wry smile, he added, "I was beaten earlier this year at a race during the Day of Roses by a couple girls and let me just tell you, I'm never letting that happen again."

"Oh, poor baby," Darcy said, stealing another kiss. "Well, let's see how good you've gotten then," she said, standing up and pulling him to his feet.
