In a tone of mock seriousness, Sky replied, "I'm afraid you're wrong there, my lady. You see, I obviously have something that you lack - principles. And it is my belief that stealing is wrong under every circumstance." With a grin, he added, "And besides, it's no fair that you can steal from me. Even though you say I can steal from you, it wouldn't really be stealing, now would it? You know, because I am the one paying for everything - not that I mind, of course."

Christine tilted her head and gave him a small smile. "I suppose," she said quietly, picking up her chopsticks. She picked up a piece of her chicken and waited for a moment where he was about to come up with a point and slipped the chicken into his mouth.
She laughed quietly at his shocked expression.

Swallowing the food, Sky chuckled as he shook his head, simultaneously holding his hands up in defeat. "All right, all right - I call for a truce." Wiggling his brows, Sky grinned as he said, "Although really, Chris, there's no need to try to choke me to get me to shut up."

"Would you prefer I silence you with a kiss," she asked, arching her eyebrows before giving a demure giggle. Her eyes twinkled with amusement. "And I submit to the terms of your truce. I promise not to steal from your plate or try to choke you with food from mine."
She smiled gently at him. "I'm glad we finally got things to work between us. It feels, I don't know, it feels like it should be, that it's finally right between us."

Whenever he was Christine, Sky had always felt that it was "right." The real problem had been that when he was with Christine and other people, he always managed to convince himself that the naysayers were the ones who were right - that he and Christine really didn't belong together.
He told himself that he wouldn't let that happen this time around, but it was one thing to just say it and a whole nother thing to actually follow through on his word - to pass the test. And as of yet, the test had not been given. Here at the Oriental Lily, they were cut off from the world. It was just her and him. Him and her. But the moment they left, the moment they let their friends in on what had transpired between them, then it was right back to where it had always been - everyone trying to bring them down. Sky wanted to believe that he and Christine would come out on top this time, but he was afraid. Afraid that perhaps it was just meant to be that Christine and he would never be able to successfully be more than friends. As if the universe had chosen that fate for them.
But he wouldn't - couldn't - think of that. Not now.
Instead, Sky turned his attention back to Christine and said with a warm smile, "I'm glad things are this way. It's been a long struggle, but here we finally are. It feels good, doesn't it?"

Christine nodded and smiled at him. "Feels more then good, Sky," she said quietly, squeezing his hand. She picked up her chopsticks and picked up a piece of chicken, popping it into her mouth. "So, how are your lessons going?" she asked, attempting a conversation that didn't center around their relationship.
