: "He was kidnapped off the street and I was taken from my home when I was a small child," Angelique said quietly. "And I didn't want to go too far because the doctor's threatened to harm those we're close to if we escape." She clung close to Brandon, hoping he could help give answers.

"But you can't just stay here," Stella protested. "You guys had lives before this and you should at least try to get back to them." Thinking of Brandon, Stella continued more fervently, "You have people who love you and miss you, don't you? People who are probably worried sick about you, who are out there looking for you at this very moment, who won't care what you look like just as long as they know that you're alive . . . so no, you can't just stay here. You have to try to get out. I mean, you just have to."

"I can't remember anything about before and Angel has been here so long that we wouldn't have a clue as to where to find her family." Brandon quietly admitted.

: Angelique nodded. "The only thing I have from my family is a teddy bear," she said softly. "I think my parents are alive but I don't know. I don't even remember what realm I'm from..."

"But you've still got to try," Stella persisted stubbornly. "I mean, it doesn't matter if you can't remember because chances are that your loved ones are out there searching for you - it's not fair to them to just drop out of existence because you don't remember. They're fighting for you, so you've got to fight for them." Never one for complacency, Stella still knew that she was going to have to change her tactics if she was going to get them to actually listen to her. Yelling at them would accomplish nothing it seemed. "Look," she began softly, "I know what it's like to be one of the people who are searching for a loved one. It's hard and it painful to have to constantly wonder if that person is okay, if he needs you, if he's hurt. The only thing that would make the search easier is knowing that my loved one was fighting as hard to get back to me as I am to get to him."

"What you say may be true, but we don't know what to look for and if I were to pass my family on the street they wouldn't know that it's me. Look at me you can't tell what I looked like before." Brandon replied

"There are ways to find them, even if you don't remember the first thing about them or about yourself," Stella replied promptly. "But you aren't going to have access to the resources you need if you stay cooped up in here. Look, we need to get out of here. If only I could get you two back to Alfea . . ." Seeing the couple's questioning look, she quickly elaborated, "Alfea is a school for fairies - I go there. I'm sure if I could get you there, the principal, Ms. Faragonda, would be able to help you because she's brilliant and can think up solutions that I'm just not able to think up. Not because I'm stupid or anything," Stella quickly added. "It's just that she's had lots of experience with dealing with strange things. So I just know that she could help you."

"What do you think Angel? Want to take this chance and see if we can find your family?" Brandon asked, he knew how much she missed them and perhaps with would be just the thing she needed.

: It didn't take Angelique long to decide. She nodded slowly. "I want to go home to my family... if they remember me..." she added softly, lowering her eyes a bit.

Smiling one of her radiant smiles - the first one she had given since she had first learned of Brandon's mysterious disapperance - Stella nodded as she said, "I'll do my best." Trying to think up the best way to get back to Alfea, Stella lapsed into silence, her thoughts invariably drifting back to Brandon. At this, her heart twisted and she felt saddened at the way she had been unable to find him, how she had failed him. But he would be proud of her, Stella decided, trying to find some sort of consolation in the midst of her misery; he would be proud that even if she couldn't help him, she was helping someone.
Her thoughts turning back to how she was going to get Angelique and her boyfriend to Alfea, Stella bit her lip. It seemed impossible; she was, after all, lost. She had no sense of where she was, of how far into the forest she had wandered or which direction she should lead them. She could try to come up with a spell that would guide them to Alfea, but she wasn't much of spellcaster - indeed, almost all the spells she had cast were done in class with a partner. And even then, she had never actually written a spell of her own. Who knew what would go wrong if she tried.
But she had to do something. Glancing down at her hand, Stella paused. Her ring. Her ring was all they needed because when she called upon it, it would transform into her scepter and then she would be able to teleport the whole lot of them to wherever she desired to take them.
Too bad she wasn't wearing it.
A chill running down her spine, Stella felt herself beginning to panic. She could have sworn that she had been wearing it . . . her thoughts jumping back to how she had changed into her hiking clothes when she had decided to go out in search of Brandon, Stella closed her eyes and tried to picture what she had done with her ring. Thinking hard, Stella nodded, yes, she had taken it off, but where had she put it? She wasn't stupid enough to leave it out in the open, no matter how much of a hurry she was in. She had put it . . . put it in . . . her breast pocket!
Mentally crossing her fingers that her ring would be there, Stella fumbled at her chest as she unsnappd the pocket on the front of her shirt. Frantically feeling around, Stella breathed a sigh of relief. It was there. Now, she could help them - really help them.
Smiling sheepishly at the two, Stella held up her ring and said, "I forgot I had this; so, long story short, I'm not as lost as I thought. I mean, I still haven't the slightest clue where I am, but my ring here can get us where we need to go. I just need to use a bit of magic - is that okay? I mean, if I transform, will the doctor be able to sense it and come looking to see what's going on?"

"The Doctor is a man of science, he uses no magic." Brandon said, "However some of his associates to use magic perhaps it's best if we go into the forest. That and there would be a smaller chance of the guards walking in on us." Brandon thought about the best way to keep the two females safe.

"True, true," Stella replied in a low voice to avoid being overheard by any lurking guards as she followed the two of them outside. As they made their way deeper into the forest, Stella made a silent wish that they wouldn't get caught - that she would escape without meeting their same fate. A shiver running down her spine at the thought of being turned into some animal, Stella did her best to push it aside. That wouldn't happen to her. It couldn't. Because she just needed a few moments to transform and activate her ring and then they could all get out of this creepy place. Surely, they could avoid being caught for just a bit longer.
After a few more minutes of walking, Stella stopped as she said, "This should be far enough, don't you think? I don't need much time; just a minute or so at most." At the others' nod of assent, Stella closed her eyes, centering her thoughts, and transformed. Not hesitating for a moment, she threw her ring up into the air as she called, "Sun power!" Immediately, the ring transformed into her scepter, long rays of right radiating from it. With her scepter secured in her hand, giving her a familiar sense of power, Stella turned to the two as she said, "Ready to go to Alfea?" At this, she pointed her scepter at the ground, causing a portal to open. Gesturing at it, Stella smiled as she said, "Hop on in."

: Angelique looked up at Brandon, and at his reassuring nod, followed Stella and him through the portal and away from the doctor. She was grateful that Brandon had managed to snag her teddy bear before they left - she didn't want to leave that doll behind at all. It was the sole link to her past. OOC: who's up to continuing the thread in Alfea?
