"Well, if you have faith, then I have faith," she said. If the professor trusted them, then who was she to doubt them. "I just hope Alfea and Red Fountain can handle the pixies? I just hope they don't include professors in that spell." She shuddered slightly. More out of fear for him then out of horror of whatever her mind was able to concoct.

Palladium smiled. "I doubt that even the pixies would be so daring as to include the teachers." Speaking in a conspiratorial voice, he added, "Could you imagine who they would pair Griselda with?" Realizing too late how inappropriate that must sound and how friendly he was getting with Flora, Palladium quickly changed the subject, "Do you happen to know how much longer it will be before we arrive at our destination?"

Flora closed her eyes and listened. "Maybe another twenty five minutes or so," she said. "I can't really tell. Normally, I would be able to judge by landmarks but well..." her voice trailed off and she smiled embarrassedly.

Palladium reddened; he hadn't meant to embarrass her - but that's what he got for speaking without thinking.
Hoping to take both of their minds of off their troubles, Palladium smiled. "You know, I love traveling - well, not necessarily like this," he said, clearly referring to his mirror prison. "But anyhow, there's something simply wondrous about visiting other peoples and learning about their culture, do you not agree?"

"Mmhmm..." she said, absently agreeing. Her thoughts were entirely elsewhere at the moment. She was daydreaming a bit. The daydreams always had a happy ending - she was with the man she loved, sitting by a fireplace as he planned a lesson and she nursing their newborn son.

Noticing that Flora was not paying attention to his words in the least, he smiled; whether or not she was paying attention bothered him not in the least because she looked happy. Teasingly, he asked, "What pleasant thoughts are preventing you from listening, hmm?"

"Mmhmm? Oh.. just a daydream," Flora said. "Nothing too important. I apologize for not paying attention."

"There's no need to apologize," Palladium replied, a twinkle of laughter reaching his eyes.

"If you say so, Professor," Flora said quietly. "I just hope you like my realm." She was suddenly shy and hopeful.

Palladium nodded, "You seem very fond of Linphea." Smiling, even though he knew Flora would not see it, he continued, "Therefore, I am certain that I will enjoy it as well."

"I think our first point of interest would be my mother's shop," she said quietly. "Then we can take a look around town. Well, you'll be looking, I'll... well..."
