"Some Miss Perfect, eh?" Sky answered with brows raised in outright amusement. "I think you'd be better off being more concerned about some Miss Imperfect because, as you've told me countless times, perfection is boring. Vanilla. Dull as cardboard. Who wants perfection? Not me."
Smiling down at Bloom, Sky continued affectionately, gently brushing a lock of her hair away from her face, "But besides, I doubt that there's a single girl in all the realms who could pull me away from you. I'm sure there are many other nice girls out there - you've got a whole bunch of them for friends, after all - but they're not you. And you are the only one I want. Promise."

Hearing Sky say that something was “vanilla” was totally amusing. Bloom probably would have laughed if things didn’t suddenly take a very sweet and serious turn. Serious in a good way. Leaning into his touch, she definitely felt her heart skip a beat.
There were no words she could say to follow that that wouldn’t sound stupid or cheesy, and the muttered “aww” was cheesy enough. Instead of trying to express herself in words, she leaned up and kissed him softly.

Returning the kiss, Sky couldn't help but smile against Bloom's lips. The path to where they now were had been a long one - one that had been filled with obstacles, that was for sure. But somehow, they had done it. True, some obstacles had been more serious than others, but even after the mess with Diaspro...somehow, they had come out on top. And that was what mattered most of all.
Breaking the kiss after a few long moments, Sky frowned as he listened to the sound of something chiming faintly in the distance. And then he remembered that the town's main bank was only located a block away and that every hour, it rang to announce the time. Quickly glancing down at his watch, Sky sighed. Eleven. And that meant that he had to get Bloom back to Alfea or else she would be in very hot water with Griselda.
Flashing Bloom a wry smile, Sky finally said reluctantly, "I guess it's that time..."

The last thing Bloom wanted to see Sky do after their kiss was frown. Was it not good? Had she done something wrong? Because it had felt good to her.
Luckily eleven chimes was long enough to clue her in as to what he was really frowning about. Unluckily it clued her in as to what he was frowning about. It was a win-lose situation.
“Does it have to be?” she asked, her lower lip sticking out in a pout. “Darn, I knew that first wish wasn’t going to come true.”

The look on Bloom's face was almost enough to make him throw the rules to the wind. Almost, but not quite. Because when it came down to it, Sky simply wasn't the 'rules be damned' kind of guy; he lived for order and routine, saw their merit. Without those things, life would be chaos and it was for that reason that Sky couldn't hold a grudge against Griselda's strictly enforced curfew. Even if it did spoil his night.
With another sigh, Sky hopped down from the ledge before opening his arms to Bloom to help her to the ground. Pressing a quick kiss to her cheek, Sky then replied smilingly as he took her hand, "This night might be ending, but if I have any say in it, there'll be many more just like these, so don't be too sad now."

Sighing in defeat when Sky stepped down from the fountain, Bloom reluctantly let him help her down as well. Taking his hand, she used it to steady herself as she slipped her shoes back on, the dampness from the fountain making the soles slippery.
“Well, I guess that’s some consolation,” she replied, his smile causing the corner of her mouth to curl up as well. “Will you take me right to my window?”
Anything she could do to prolong the night, she’d do it. He’d picked her up at her window once on his levabike when they’d snuck out, and she knew the girls would be waiting for date details in the common room. It would be funny to see the looks on their faces if they thought she’d stayed out all night with Sky.

"Your wish is my command," Sky replied as he guided Bloom back in the direction from which they had entered the park. "To your window it is."
As they continued to walk, Sky smiled as he glanced down at the colorful flowers that lined the path. Shooting Bloom a mildly goofy look, Sky then said, "I wish I could finish off this night by giving you a bouquet; that would be romantic, right? But I have the distinct feeling that the second I bend down to pick one, a park official is going to leap out of the bushes and fine me for stealing from the public. I think that would cause a scandal too - although," at this Sky grinned, "probably not as much of a scandal as me beating up one of your suitors."

How could someone who could battle dragons and armies of monsters be so adorably insecure when it came to romance? He always seemed so impressive and confident on duty and with his friends, which was totally attractive, but the goofy side just endeared him more to her.
Laughing at the image and the reoccurring joke, Bloom bumper her arm against his and grinned up at him.
“Far less heart attack inducing for your mother, but scandalous nonetheless,” she agreed. “Although she’d probably just blame it on me. Say I’m a bad influence or something.”

Though he knew that Bloom was probably right about his mother, Sky loyally shook his head as he replied to the contrary, "You? A bad influence? Impossible!"
It really was a ridiculous idea, even if his mother thought otherwise. Bloom was easily one of most admirable people he knew; she was loyal and caring and passionate - and sure, she had her 'flaws,' like her propensity toward jumping to conclusions for one, but at least she owned up to them. That was a rare ability - one that Sky found even grown men often didn't possess.

“Oh, I don’t know. I could be a bad girl if I wanted,” she said with another mischievous grin. Unfortunately she couldn’t think of anything worthy of the title at the moment. And besides, if this was what being a good girl got her then why would she want to walk on the wild side?
“First I would use my feminine wiles to get you to steal me flowers, but soon you would be stealing candy from babies and chasing cats up trees just for fun,” she said, looking aghast.

Grinning, Sky replied, "I suppose you could manage to tempt me to pick flowers illegally and to steal candy from babies - but I draw the line at chasing cats up trees. That's just too cruel. And besides, me being a hero-in-training, you never when I might get called in to climb up a tree and save the very cat that I chased up it." Chuckling, he added, "I think that's what we call irony or something."
As they finally approached the park's wrought iron gates, Sky joked as he held them open for Bloom, "Who knew that being a hero goes hand-in-hand with rescuing animals that don't need rescuing? Because, you know, there's that saying about cats having nine lives - and unfortunately, I only have one. The way I see, I should be the one being rescued, not them."

After such a long, stressful week, if felt good to just act a fool out and laugh. And laugh. They were both so carefree tonight that even the escalating dorkiness of the conversation wasn’t enough to ruin the mood. In fact, it probably added to it. Sure, they had their mushy moments, but Bloom was glad it didn’t spiral down into drama and angst.
“Well, lucky for you, I have experience in rescuing you,” she teased, remembering the time she had rediscovered her Dragonfire and showed up just in time to save him from the monsters the Trix had unleased. “And if it means I get to keep you around longer, then I’ll be there whenever you need me.”

Recalling the occasion Bloom was referring to, a faintly serious look crossed over Sky's face. Those had been some difficult times and though he hated to admit it, the Trix had been a force to be reckoned with. Which made his former belief that they had been beat once and for all even more stupid. Evil like that just didn't go away - even if it did get whipped in the first battle. But that was just it: first battle. Since then, the Trix had shown they wouldn't just vanish and be forgotten. Even though they hadn't made any major recent appearances and stirred up any great deal of havoc, Sky had the distinct feeling that they would be heard from yet.
Not wanting those dark thoughts to dampen the light mood he and Bloom had going between them, Sky forced them to the back of his mind as he said with a soft smile, "Yep, you certainly did have my back." He paused for a moment and then said, casting an insistent look at Bloom, "You know I'll always have yours too, right? No matter what. Anytime you need me, I'm only a phone call away."

Seeing the change in Sky’s expression, Bloom mentally kicked herself for reminding him of a time and a battle that really was no laughing matter. All three schools had been damaged, whether it had been the buildings themselves or the people that fought so valiantly to protect them. Ultimately they had prevailed and defeated the three rogue witches, but it had been a close call.
Luckily Sky wasn’t about to let those memories spoil their night.
“You say that now, but after the third or so phone call that wakes you up you’ll be singing a different tune,” she replied, carrying on the teasing just a moment longer before letting the impact of his words show in her expression. It meant so much to her that he would be there whenever she needed him, no matter what. “I know. I’ll remember that.”

As they made their way down the brightly lit sidewalk, Sky wrapped his arm around Bloom's waist once again as he quietly observed the other people out and about that night. Every so often he would incline his head slightly in the direction of someone he vaguely knew, but what caught his eye the most - what warmed his heart, and consequently banished all lingering thoughts of the Trix out of his mind - was the sight of other couples passing by. For some reason, as cheesy as it sounded, love was in the air and he and Bloom were a part of it. It was a nice feeling and he hated that it had to end. But already, time had flown by and they were back at his levabike, which he had parked close to the restaurant they had eaten at earlier.
Turning to Bloom, Sky handed her one of his helmets as he helped her onto the back of the bike before hopping on himself. Revving up the engine, Sky then secured his own helmet as he said smilingly, "All right, you know the drill: hold on tight."
