"You've got me there - after all, if love obeyed rules, life would get pretty boring, wouldn't it? All the excitement and surprises of it would be replaced with predictable sequences of events and I bet falling in love would lose its magic." Layla nodded, "I may not be the lovey-dovey type, but even I know that spontaneous love is better than love that's on a schedule."

"That and Eros and I would be bored or worse, not existent," Amore said, her eyes widening a bit before she sniffled. "Do you think we'll find the other pixies, Lay-lay?"

Layla's smile faded as she thought about the missing pixies. Sighing, she replied, "I hope so, Amore. I wish I could guarantee that we will, but . . . I just don't know." Resting her chin on the palm of her hand, she added, "I miss them."

Amore looked hopeful. "Maybe we'll be lucky and they'll show up," she bit her lower lip. "I mean, I would love to see Eros just appear out of nowhere." She bit her lower lip again. "Do you think Eros likes me?"

Layla exhaled in relief, glad to see that Amore wasn't visibly upset. "Do you want to know what I think? Well, I'll tell you, Amore. I think that Eros likes you as much as you like him." Raising her brows innocently, she continued, "Now, you tell me whether Eros likes you."

"I think he does. At least, he puts up with me being there," Amore admitted. "I just don't know. I want to think he really likes me and that it's not because we're partner pixies..." She lowered her eyes. She was prone to seeing love for everyone but herself.

"Oh, Amore - you think too much! Of course, Eros likes you, and not just because you're his complement. You're sweet and fun, even if you are too hard on yourself. I'm sure whenever we find him, he'll be just as happy to see you as you will be to see him."

Amore blushed. Layla was right, she was a bit too hard on herself. Now more then ever she wished that Eros was there just so she could tell him that she loved him. She only hoped they found him before...
OOC: I think we pretty much took over this lesson, Layla ::laughs:: Oh, and if anyone wants to play Eros - that'd be cool. He's practically a male version of Amore

Layla glanced around the room again, wondering if Flora was still taking this class or if those plans for her lessons that she had talked about with Ms. Faragonda had taken effect. After a moment, Layla decided that Flora probably wasn't going to be here due to the fact that one, class had technically started and two, Flora was not one to be late. It was probably better this way. Less drama. Less chances for trouble. Yes, it was better this way, even though it was kind of lonely.
Shrugging off her thoughts, Layla whispered to Amore, "Do you think the professor knows what time it is? Because, I think class is going to be halfway over pretty soon . . . maybe I should say something."

"I don't think he knows," Amore said. "Otherwise, he would have done something by now." Maybe Layla would take her for ice cream after class - that is if Layla didn't have another class for a while. She silently hoped for the ice cream.

Layla shook her head, more curious than annoyed. "You would think that he would be smart enough to read the clock. But who knows? Maybe he really is distracted about something. Or having a bad day. He doesn't seem like himself, you know? Strange."
Brushing her hair back from her shoulder, Layla continued, "Whatever. I'm not going to think about it anymore. If he doesn't feel like teaching today, I don't feel like learning."
Glancing up at the clock, she sighed. "But I'm hungry; serves me right for forgetting to eat breakfast." Smiling up at Amore, Layla asked, "What about you? Hungry? This class can't last much longer. Maybe we can go to Magix and get a bite to eat; I'm in the mood for something delicious today and our dining hall food just won't cut it."

"Flora mentioned that the other day after she went to his office to see if he could help her brew a potion to get rid of her nightmares," Amore murmured quietly. She paused a moment and looked up at Layla with large blue eyes. "Ice cream."

Layla felt her curiosity increasing, but she fought it back down. "Well, this is one thing I'm not going to get myself tangled up in. Whatever is going on with the professor . . . well, he can deal with that himself. Nope, my hands are staying clean this time." Pausing for a moment, Layla bit her lip. "No, I'm not getting involved. I'm only going to focus on things that pertain to me - like ice cream. Good, delicious ice cream. We'll have to head over after class to that new ice cream shop that opened last week and see if it's as good as the advertisements made it out to be."

Amore clapped her hands happily. "Since he's not teaching... Can we go now?" she asked innocently. Obviously, nothing was going to happen and it's not like he was even acknowledging anyone in the room so they wouldn't get in trouble...

"Well . . ." Layla shot a glance at the professor. "Well, I suppose we could go now. After all, I didn't eat breakfast and as Ms. Faragonda says, our health is the most important thing - so technically we'd be following the rules. Smiling mischievously, Layla said after a moment, "Let's make a run for it."
