Mali looked over to Kevyn, "My dear girl don't be jealous of what they have as the saying goes the grass is greener on the other side. It's not true, it just appears that way. There are times when they are jealous of you having a home, some place you can always return to. Tashii will never admit it but I also think that she would love to not being an empath, she is terrified to let people close to her." Mali told Kevyn some of her perceptions about her daughter, explaining part of the reason that Tash was the way she was. Mali knew her daughter well enough to know that Tashii would help anyone she could but Mali wondered how many people actually knew anything about her.

Kevyn sat back, out of her hunched position, "I know, Kaelin and I have talked at length about it," she sighed, "Maybe I'm just lashing out 'cause I'm so frustrated. I want to help...but..." Kevyn stopped, this was not where she'd thought this conversation would go, and now she found herself a little lost.

"But?" Mali asked wanting to know exactly what Kevyn was feeling so helpless about.

"I don't know how... I can't...." Kevyn sighed again, "Tash is my best friend, she's helped me out plenty of times even though we were so far away form eachother after you left, she still did everything she could to help me whenever I had a problem. No matter how big or small. And now, when she needs me the most, I'm completely powerless." Kevyn fought the tears that threatened to spill again, "And Kaelin, Goddess Kaelin, he's hurting so badly. He won't show it, but I know this thing is tearing him up inside, I can practically feel his pain. Quinn can to." she put her hands to her eyes, "I can't stand seeing him hurt like that."

"Do you really think that your not there for her? You were one of the few people outside of her family, who have accepted her for who she was as she was growing up. I know that of all the things she has ever seen you are one of the most important to her." Mali said not sure how to touch the subject of her son, Mali was beginning to think that Kevyn and Kaelin would actually admit what they felt for each other at some point. "You are helping them both right now in your willingness to go after Tashii, you are about to go against a High Lord in a war torn country to get her back." Mali said hoping that Kevyn would realize that she was important to her daughter.

"Your right." Kevyn stood, a determined look on her face, "Well enough whining, we gotta go get Tashii back. And Anubis take anyone that gets in the way." She said, a smile back on her face, making for the door.

"If you need anything else let me know and Kevyn stay safe." Mali said her thoughts already on the research she was going to have to do to find out what was going on.

"Have you ever known me no to." Kevyn paused a second, "Wait. Don't answer that."

Glancing up, "It's best if I don't answer that I agree." Mali said with a smile.
