"It's nothing," Flora answered a bit too quickly, trying to keep her gaze from drifting to Professor Palladium. 'Bad Flora, no cinnamon tea if you keep this up,' she thought. "Just I don't remember Professor Palladium ever looking like that," she continued, making a small gesture in the professor's direction.

"That's because he never did look like that." Tecna once again played Captain Obvious. Honestly, if this was the direction this conversation was going to go...

"Thank you for stating the obvious, Tec," Flora said, playfully amused and playfully irritated. "So, what do you think he'll cover this year?" Hopefully, classwork would be a nice switch.

Tecna perked up at this. "Whatever it is, I hope it is something more advanced. Last year's material nearly put me to sleep, I had everything on the syllabus completed by the end of the first month."

OOC: if Flora is slow, it's because Flora is multitasking ::eyes the knitting Nellie sitting on my lap:: so far, my knitting project could pass for one of Flora's gloves LOL
"I just hope we don't have to do that swamp field trip again. I loved it but... do we have to listen to our year mates whine about not liking the swamp?" Flora asked, wrinkling her nose in rememberence. "Besides, I'm not in the mood to deal with that troll.. What did happen to it? Was it ever found from whatever realm the Trix put it in?"

"I think they spent summer vacation getting it into a quarantine." Something strange tingled in the depths of Tecna's stomach. Something that was completely illogical. It made her suddenly ill. Was it the feeling of mischief? It erupted out of her stomach, past her lips in the form of a simple, harmless question. "Why don't we go ask Professor Palladium about it, hmn?"
Grinning. Was she grinning? No! Stop muscles! Brain! Control facial nervous system!

Flora's mouth opened in a perfect letter "o" before she regained her composure. "All right," she said, feeling flustered. "Let's." She just hoped that only his appearence changed and not his voice - it wouldn't be becoming of her to melt into a little puddle of fluff in front of everyone.

Tecna's grin immediately vanished in shock. She didn't expect Flora to actually take her up on the suggestion.
Warning. Warning. Blood rushing to face.
...now why was she blushing?!

"Someone's eager to see Professor Avalon?" Flora playfully teased. She was grateful that the attention was now off of her and onto Tecna. And it was rare to see Tecna so flustered - even rarer to see her blushing.

"When did that professor become a topic of conversation?" Tecna frowned, folding her arms over her chest in a pout.

Flora shrugged. "Only because you were asmitten when he showed up," Flora said, lifting one shoulder in a delicate shrug. "So, shall we go ask what happened? I'm a bit curious..." Flora took a small cleansing breath, steadied her nerves and hoped and prayed she wasn't blushing.

"Smitten? Smitten?!" Tecna guffawed, "Why, Flora, I must compliment you! Just a concept just doesn't register with me! I think you have treaded onto a realm completely unbeknownst to me!"

"Moving right along," Flora said, grabbing Tecna's hand. "Let's go." What was the worse that could happen? Besides both of them getting flustered.

Musa decided being a bit sneaky and going along. They were looking quite weird, and Musa could have sworn that she saw Tecna blushing, wich wasn't a very usual sight.

Across the dining hall, Layla sat at a table filled with girls huddled around one another, all of whom burst out into giggles every few seconds. Sighing, Layla toyed with her food and tried to ignore the high pitched squeals. Sometimes girls could be so typical; they always seemed to be giggling about boys. Actually, in this instance not a boy, but a man - at least that was how the girls described the person who they found so desirable. Professor Avalon to be more specific.
But Layla wasn't like the other girls; she simply didn't see the professor's appeal. Sure, he was attractive enough, but he was also her teacher, which, to her, made any thoughts of a romance with him vomit-inducing. And besides, he had to be at least twice her age.
Just then, another burst of giggles swarmed towards her ears. Utterly fed up, Layla scanned the room in hopes of finding a familiar face to go talk to. After a moment she noticed Flora guiding Tecna towards none other than Professor Avalon and Palladium. For a moment she considered going up to the girls, but decided against it; Flora and Tecna were nice enough, but she wasn't that close to either of them. Looking around once more, and not seeing Bloom, her closest friend at Alfea, Layla decided there was no point in her sticking around. Besides, it looked like a pretty nice day; a stroll around the campus sounded much more pleasant than staying indoors.
Getting up from her seat, Layla dismissed herself from the group, although she doubted that they noticed. Inwardly smiling at the exit a few feet away, she hurriedly left the dining hall.
