Feeling the dark magic sweep through his body, Sky grimaced, a part of him still desperately trying to resist it. But it was too strong. With a strangled sound emanating from his throat, Sky fell to his knees, his head lowered and his chest heaving.
For several long moments Sky remained in just that position, but then, slowly, he rose to his feet, his head still bowed, his blond hair forming a curtain that masked his features. And as he rose, he made no sound, though his shoulders were still shaking . . .
And then, suddenly, he threw back his head, revealing deep, blood red eyes, and laughed a terrifying, wicked laugh.

"Why, Sky, why?" Christine asked quietly, finding it hard to look at him without crying. "Why did you do this? One seer's not important. A prince is worth far more." She bowed her head and wept.

Sky tilted his head as he stared at Christine critically. "You are absolutely right," he drawled after a moment's inspection. "I do not know why Sky sacrificed himself for you - fortunately, I am not Sky, therefore I do not have to think about this unless it pleases me. But I will say this much: what he saw in your pathetic existence baffles me. You are nothing more than a whiny, ignorant, stupid individual. Look at you! Look at how you are throwing away this wonderful opportunity Darkar has presented you with. Pathetic."
Walking away from Christine, Sky moved to stand beside Flora, as he finished, an evil glint dancing in his eyes, "Be prepared to cry, little girl - your beloved prince is gone. For good. I may look like him, but do not be mistaken - I am not your little Lyon."

Christine's expression hardened and she looked up at Sky, or the man that had been Sky. "You're right. You aren't Sky. I don't know who you are nor do I really care now. Because I *have* seen the future, and guess what, princeling," she said, her voice dripping with ice. "You aren't in it. Well, this corrupted dark version of you isn't it if one must be accurate."

"Someone once said that one's words are the ultimate betrayal - that someone was right." Squatting down next to Christine, Sky snickered, "You say that I am not Sky and yet you do not hesitate to call me by the pet name you gave him long ago. Don't forget - I still have my host's memories; I know these things." Tracing a finger seductively up and down her cheek, Sky arched a brow, as he leaned in to whisper darkly, "Sky knew that you wanted him - but funny story. He didn't want you. Surely I am lying? Don't be so sure, Chrissy . . . don't be so sure."

Christine's expression never changed as he spoke or as he traced a pattern on her cheek. She would show him no emotion. "Do I look like I care?" she asked quietly, almost aloofly. She'd ask the real Sky for the truth, once he was restored to her. She didn't believe this fake, this imposter.

"Ah, the classic bluff maneuver; do you honestly think you can trick me? Do you honestly expect me to believe that this cold mask is real?" Without warning, Sky swiftly grabbed Christine around the neck, pressing down just enough to create a bit of discomfort - not real harm. Ominously, he continued, "I may not appear to be your pure prince, but I am more honest than he. And despite what you may be thinking right now, on many levels I am the one who is less deceptive. I do not cower behind flowery words and declarations of false love as I am certain you know he did."
Relaxing his grip on her, Sky smiled as he returned to his feet. "Now that we understand each other, I think this will be the start of something beautiful. I'll win you over soon enough - believe me, you will join us."

"A seer belongs to no-one," Christine hissed, staring up at him with fury in her eyes. "And do not touch me again for when I get my hands free, I will shove my knife into your shoulder." She gave a bitter mocking laugh. "And how are you going to win me over to your side? Profess your undying love for me?" she sneered.

"Shove a knife into my shoulder? You wouldn't. You're just words, Chrissy. Just words. Even if I should let you out of those chains right now, and even if I planted a knife into your hands, you wouldn't be able to do it. For you see, all I would have to do is this:"
Closing his eyes for a moment, Sky's face became expressionless. When he reopened them, they had become his normal blue again and his Red Fountain uniform had resumed its regular blue coloring as well. Stepping closer to Christine, Sky gently placed a kiss on her forehead as he whispered, "I love you, my fairy princess."
Stepping back, Sky laughed darkly as he transformed back into his dark self. "See? Easy as that. All I would have to do to stop you from attacking me would be to remind you of what your dear little prince once was. Hurts, doesn't it?"

"You don't know me very well, do you?" Christine said, looking up at him. "Because I know I could and would." She gave a faint laugh. "I seem to recall my first day at Red Fountain when you first came to my room to greet me, I nearly ran you through with an arrow so don't think I wouldn't be able to harm you." OOC: Whoops *laughs* How did I make that mistake? "Oh, but when that happened you didn't realize that Sky would be the man you would fall in love with, now did you? You didn't realize then that he would make your heart flutter and your hands clammy, now did you? I didn't think so. It's different now - now that you've professed your love for him only to have him tell you that he's 'still into Bloom.' Even though he hasn't returned your love more than as a friend, you still can't get him out of your head. I must say, Christine, you've certainly drawn the short stick in life."

OOC: because at distance shots they appear brown - same reason Aurora's eyes are dark but are suddenly brilliant blue when Phillip kisses her
"I've drawn the short stick all my life, so what's your point?" she returned. "You do have a point for that stunning comment, or was that just the extent of your stunning wit?" she asked, tilting her head in question.

Changing his tactics, Sky crouched back down by Christine and replied softly, "Come now, don't be like that. I'm only trying to help you. Can't you see that I'm offering you the chance of a lifetime? Hasn't it crossed your mind yet what joining us could do for you? It must have at some point - even if only for one brief moment. Besides, isn't the saying "revenge is sweet" true? Wouldn't you love to destroy all the people who've told you that you aren't good enough just because you're a half-breed? Wouldn't that feel good to watch them suffer? Don't tell me that that hasn't crossed your mind; it must have for someone as tormented as you."

"It hasn't," she said blandly. "Just because people treated me so poorly does not mean that I can treat them as badly as they treated me. I was taught better then that. The man you were taught me that." She looked away.

Flora watched with grand amusement as the prince of darkness interacted with the seer. "Oh, just kiss her already. Perhaps that would convince her to join us."
