"I would love to learn more about who my family is but I don't think going home is ever going to be a possibility for me; the planet I was born on is a giant ice cube and thanks to the tail I can't even return to earth." Bloom admitted wondering why she was telling Mar this. She hadn't even told her best friends much less Sky.

: "I'm sure the tail thing won't be permanent for you. Faragonda will probably find a way to fix you," he said quietly, lowering his eyes. He didn't know why he told her that. He would miss having company - and while they didn't always get along, "bad" company was better than no company.

"Yeah, your right if there is a way to turn me back Faragonda will be able to find it." Bloom enthusiastically agreed and yet at the same time was strangely disappointed. Bloom shook her head why was she disappointed in the idea of being human again?

: Mar suddenly got a horrorfied expression on his face. "Oh, Triton's horn! The stove!" he cried, and with a quick flip of his tail, he was swimming at full speed down to his house. He had promised Bloom the other day that he'd attempt in his kitchen to make, what did she call them, brownies? He resurfaced an hour later with a burnt and now very soggy mess. "Uh.. I'm not sure if brownies are supposed to look like this.."

"You made me brownies?" Bloom managed to asked, she was totally blown away by it. Bloom hadn't taken him seriously when he told her he would; she had been convinced that he just said that to play with her mind. She didn't know what to say to him; other than "No one's ever done anything like this before. So thank you."

: "You're welcome," he said quietly, blushing shyly. "I figured it'd might cheer you up since you seem sad."

How did someone who had only ever interacted with two people in his life time be so accurate is judging her emotions; add to that, Mar had only known her for a couple of days. Was she really that easy to read?
"So are you going to try it with me or make me try it on my own?" Bloom quietly asked.

: "If you really want me to, I'll try it with you," he said quietly, giving her another shy smile.

Bloom was going to say something sarcastic to Mar but for some reason held her tongue. "Yeah, try it with me. You made it you should be the first to try it, perks of being the cook. Unless your afraid it try it?" Bloom asked trying to keep a straight face. She hadn't been nice since that day, so why was she being nice now?

: "I've never had human food before," he confessed. "Usually lived on a seaweed salad." He shuddered. "One can only live on seaweed salad if one is thinking about going to the great kelp bed in the sky. I don't care what human thought seaweed is a good diet food but take it from a merman. Worst. Food. Ever." He took a small piece of the brownie and nibbled on it. "I... am not a good cook." He felt his shoulders droop. "I think I burnt them to start with and then bringing them up... they got soggy..."

"Since you have never had human food before I am going to assume that you've never made human food before, so with that in mind." Bloom took a small bite of her own.
"It's not bad for your first attempt. How were they not soggy down there?" Bloom asked pointing to where he came from. "And if you think Seaweed is the worst food ever why didn't you find something else to eat?"

: He flicked his tail. "Eating fish makes me feel like a," he paused, searching for the word, "cannibal." He sighed. "It's the whole fish tail thing that puts off the whole fish thing." He flicked his tail again. "Small cottage down there. I had Faragonda enchant a few things so they work underwater. Like the stove."

"Except Red Snappers?" Bloom asked with pursed lips. "Why didn't you just ask Faragonda to bring you something you like better; something that you could grow in your garden? Do you cook your seaweed salad or do you have some other use for the stove?" Bloom asked another round of questions, a stove at the bottom of the lake? That thought amused her.

: "I may not eat fish, but I do tend to snack on other seafood. Mussels...." he said, almost drooling before he caught himself. "Ahem," he said, blushing. "As for asking Faragonda... she's done so much for me, that I'd hate to bug her and have her put something in the lake for me to eat. Besides, she has more on her mind than the eating habits of one simple merman." "And the garden," he said, sighing. "It's ah, not the best example. It's not doing entirely well. Snails."

Dealing with pests was something that she could do. "Perhaps I can help with your garden. I know a little about plants." Bloom offered, she wanted to do this to thank him.
